I'm all for getting Ha-Ha Clinton Dix as well. Dix is 25, in his fifth season and has three interceptions this year. He's probably better than any safety we can get from the second round on unless we get lucky.

We've tried this building through the draft thing and gotten some good players, but it's time to supplement it with quality veterans that can help before too many players get to old for the slow-building process, like Romo, Witten and Ware did.

I don't see Dallas doing much, if anything, more, though, because the team is not forward-thinking. It's going to trust the process until the process leaves and a different coach comes in here with a different way of thinking that the Joneses will be willing to adopt.
I really don't see the Packers trading with the Cowboys possibly I could be wrong been wrong before heard the rumors he may be on the market my question would be what is the asking price

And of course you are right here asking for the Joneses to be forward-thinking maybe they've woken up but I highly doubt it

The real question will be if Jason Garrett what wake up and be the coach he needs to be I know that's going to draw a lot of laughs but that's always a possibility LOL

We could pick up two or three more veterans in trade that's not going to ensure that the Cowboys are going to be better when you have an indecisive coach

Jerry has just about change all of the coaching staff with the exception of the two that are really killing us at the moment and possibly quarterbacks coach

I just don't see any real movement on this team to get to the playoffs and on to a Superbowl with this current coaching staff not all of them mind you but the head coach and the OC

He's immediately improves the TE squad.

I believe the estimated cap space for next year it's about 70 million dollars I could be off a few here and there and I think Cooper will command more than 18 to 20 million dollar range if he returns to form

Throw in 20m for Demarcus Lawrence, 20-25m for Dak, say 15-16m for Cooper. THen you have Elliott and Jaylon to consider, along with Byron Jones. We can't just start throwing around draft picks on every high dollar guy that becomes available. You can play with the cap for sure, but there are limits.

Do you really want to give a 3rd or 4th for a player that might just be here this year?

We gave a first for a player that might only be here a year, for a player that has regressed for the last 2 seasons and will cost us $14 million next year. Even if, and that's still a big if, he can return to resemble the player he was 2 seasons ago, we have no guarantees he would stay here. With Brate, we at least would be in control for the next 5 years and is an immediate upgrade to that position, not a hope he will be. If we don't make a play for him during this season, he needs to be on our radar during the off season. Jarwin will be gone and Rico finally needs to prove himself. After 3 years, if he can't get on the field and make a real impact, especially with the lack of talent we have at the position, he needs to get gone.

why the eagles have Ertz but TRADED UP to grab Dallas Goedert? seems like a waste but Dallas seems to be fitting in well..

BTW was the Cowboys truly going to take DallasG or was Williams their guy the entire time? id be very curious to that REAL answer..who would be or LG now?

Dallas was on the phone with him as the eagles pick was being announced in the background.

Depends on if the trade is mutually beneficial, which means it would have to be player for player. I'd go straight up Randy Gregory for Dix. With Irving and Collins back, Crawford could move back outside to rotate at left end (on run downs) and Armstrong could move back to right end to rotate with Charlton.

The trade could come back to bite us (there's the risk), but right now Gregory is lots of speed with little production. The Packers would have to buy into his potential and the risk of him suffering a drug setback.

The trade also could be good for Charlton because Gregory is a speed rusher who gets more pass-rushing snaps because his potential there is higher.

I'd take him. He's solid. But I wouldn't trade anything higher than a 4th. We better not overspend on a TE.

We should have got Eric Ebron when he was available.

That was 1 player I wanted along with Tre Boston.

It would also give JG and Dak no excuses. Do or die.
Sorry, but this is Jason and Dak's team. The top will move, add and subtract pieces around them as we have seen this year. It is going to be a looong ten more years.

I seriously doubt that our FO is likely to invest another high pick to acquire Cam Brate.

I hereby predict that they'll elect to proceed with Dalton Schultz in the games to come.

The incumbent TEs currently available in front of him are lacking in impressive talent.

It is likely we're about to learn more of what Schultz has to offer in terms of his worth.
