I don't think they thought he'd fix it but I think thought was to make their job easier.
Cooper's a nice piece going forward. However, I simply did not agree giving up our 1st for him. Because we are further away than that. The good thing is that Cooper looked very good.

The plus side is that based on Jerry's considerable track record there was no way he was going to take a QB in the first round anyway. The one time he did try to move up he tried to get Paxton Lynch, who couldn't beat out Dak. Jerry understanding how to get a good QB is like me trying to understand how time bends as you near the speed of light -- it just isn't going to happen.

They could have taken one of the stud DTs Or DEs that will be there in the Top Ten.

There's alot of truth to that. Jerry is more likely to scrape the barrel looking for deals or reclamation projects then invest draft capital for a QB.

I didn't like the deal either but if they were going to reach for a receiver next season which we all know they were i at least rather hav e Cooper then a potential bust at receiver.

Easy to make trades when there is zero accountability. It's not like he didn't have experience from previous trades..Joey Galloway, Roy Williams.

It's not that Amari Cooper is bad. It's the shortsightedness of this kind of trade. It was an overreaction to your own incorrect decision of not needing a true #1 WR this past off-season. But at the end of the day, he'll still be the GM. Jerry has been, still is, and continues to be the problem.

We haven't had a true #1 receiver for the three prior years. It wasn't a new issue.

How many first round picks have we traded for wide receivers since the last time a #1 on a quarterback? 2 for Galloway. 1 for Cooper. How many for Williams/TO?

No reason to rationalize a bad deal.

Williams was a 1,3,5. TO was a FA signing.

To be fair, Cooper was the best player Dallas had on the field tonight. He looked worthy.

Hope it was worth it for the year and a half rental. He ain't going to want to stick around a team like this, he's been there, done that already.

Cooper is a good WR man, i would have made that trade....

I think its a smart move personally, it doesnt give Dak or Garrett any excuses....our next coach and QB will love Cooper
Yeah honestly I think cooper will be good. Hated trade at first but we probably woulda screwed the pick up anyway

The other consideration here is that Gallup looks like he might be a good player by next year.

Yep. Jerry will get more football guy points if we “make” a QB instead of drafting a 1st rd QB who is supposed to be good.
