Irvin was the last great leader IMO,, he elevated everyone around him by his actions and play on the field, not by acting the fool on the sidelines,,,
never saw a temper tantrum from Irvin, but I saw plenty of dominating performances that carried this team to championships and SBs.
His play on the field elevated this team.
I just don't see that type of player on this roster any more, not like that.
I believe Dez wanted to emulate that type of character, but he never even came close.
Dez did. And I think Elliot wants to . Dak would try. But the playcalling dont allow it. After we had a game that allowed Elliot and Dak to put the team on there back they just get away from it.

Are you kidding me? He ran this O-Line. The line is lost out there not to mention a HC that let his O-Line coach walk and hires guy that the bengals fire to get him.

This is my point, Fred was good, took charge, was very cerebral...the line is failing without him

JJ will never let that happen. He gets the players but won’t get the staff and give them the power to run it.
No offence directly at you glimmerman…
but if I read that tired, over run line one more time Im going to shoot myself in the face.
Its been overplayed, over run, on and on,, its obvious brother.

You're funny, Travis Frederick, Sean Lee, Dak all have been identified as leaders in the lockeroom.
2 of the 3 aren’t playing. And Daknis taking a real beating. Lee will be lucky to see the field again.

That doesn't matter, they're there everyday and on the sidelines.
I don’t disagree I see Lee in the sidelines coaching them up. Fredrick is still trying to get better. Looney has been a nice surprise and maybe because of Fredrick helping him.

Sometimes its not just one or the other, sometimes its both.
I really have come to the conclusion that not only does this team not have the proper coaching in place, but the talent level is no where near as high as the fan base is believing it is.

The team is soft.......top to bottom offense and defense.

That's where Im at now Sarge as a fan of this team,, I find a PBJ much more enjoyable.

So...how exactly does this work?

Is it just because they have a losing record? Or do we find out that 31 teams did not have leadership after all when someone wins the Super Bowl?

What role does a leader play? Do all players and/or teams need leaders?

When a team is down, with their back to the wall, who do they look to for leadership? Dak had two turnovers that cost his team, who's following him?

I think the leadership thing is overplayed because there are a lot of players that are not good followers of other players. What is missing is the one that should be the leader, the HC. He picked up that clapping habit from Saban but he didn't bother to learn the balance of that, the fear that Saban can instill in not only players but coaches as well. Parcells had that same thing when he was at the top of his game and any player that screwed up tried to avoid the "Landry Look". I have actually seen both of those coaches step out to make eye contact with a player trying to disappear on the bench.

The Cowboys do not have a leader, they have a patriarch. And that patriarch doesn't want his players uncomfortable and they're not. Lose and there are no repercussions. Any time one of Johnson's teams lost an away game, they feared the ride home and were nervous until the first team meeting.

The Cowboys lack the most basic motivation to success, the fear of failure. They even have management run interference for them in the media and make excuses for them. That comes from the self-appointed leader, the patriarch.

Yep, starts at the top. Jerry and Jason have molded a team in their image.

You can't just become a "leader"
You have to have leadership qualities and if you don't people will see right through it.

Snake is only a leader to LVE and Jaylon, nobody is following him like that. We dont have a leader of this football team, there's nobody that all the guys are going to rally behind

The captain's patch was my first clue when looking for team leaders.
Not the end-all of the search, but also not a bad start... lol
