This thread is strange to me. Why would he have to give his wife money for the spa? In my marriage it has always been OUR money. My wife has not worked much during our marriage but I have never once considered the money I make mine. It is ours. While I may hate some of the stuff she wants to do, I will always go with my wife somewhere like shopping or to a spa(if she were in to that). The only reason I would not go is if I had to work. If she wanted to bring a friend if I could not go and the friend could not afford it, she would be the one paying for it with our money. Of course we have been married for almost 26 years and are still extremely happy.

One other thing I might add is if the OP does not trust his wife to go somewhere alone, then their marriage is on VERY shaky ground. I think the OP's marriage could actually use some quality time together and going to the spa with her may be a great place to start right after he opens up the joint checking account.

My wife used to buy me massages all the time. I'm a pretty big dude, I made the mistake of telling my wife that the young lady doing the massage was small and the only way she could get leverage was to get on top of me. She never bought me a massage again. Lol

Of course I would. Garrett is too incompetent to take my wife away.:muttley:

Now a serious answer to the is question which I know was made in jest, I actually trust her 100% and while I think Garrett is about as lousy of a football coach that there is on this planet, I think he is an equally good guy who would never try to do anything in the first place.

My wife has full access to the money I bring in. In fact my checking account is the only checking account we have. I'm sending her to the spa day as a gift for her to treat herself. it wouldn't feel like it was a gift from me if she decided to do this on her own.
As for the trust issue it's from a previous thing that happened before that I don't want to get into again. If I told you the story you'd understand.

@cml750 , I know the story, and he's not lying. You'd understand.
