Well for starters, since we held the 4th pick the cost would not have been as much as what Philly paid.

And he's a better QB by a pretty sizeable amount too.

It's not Dak hate. That's the chatter from the intellectually lazy homers like yourself. It's just looking at both QBs and admitting one is better than the other and that's a position that most outside Dallas homers also hold.

What good is it that Dak only cost a 4th round pick if he's not an upper echelon QB? That's the dumbest thing I have ever heard.

That's like saying you'd rather have some 6th round OG instead of Martin or some 7th round DE over Lawrence.

It's insane logic.
Hmmm...so what's your logic on Romo? He wasn't drafted at all. But some thought he was a QB god.

Stop posting stupid things to justify a nonsense take.
Wentz is 21-16, Dak is 25-16.
Wentz is a far better pure passer but he is hardly some elite level QB at this point as last night showed.
He struggles versus pressure same as Dak and he has bad INTs.
He also has a scary bad injury history dating back to high school.

And yes any team would rather have 5 top 100 picks than most anyone but most certainly more than the difference between those 2 QBs.
Dak is a solid starting NFL QB. Wentz is a POTENTIAL franchise guy with high injury risks.

The Eagles have more talent than DAL this year but have the same 4-5 record and now a home loss to DAL to boot.
Wentz is a big part of that under-performing.

If teams re-draft that draft Dak goes R1 100 times out of 100.

LOL. Wut?

Romo proved to be an upper echelon QB. In other words, if we were talking Romo in his prime and Wentz, no, I wouldn't want Wentz over Romo.

But the gap between Wentz and Dak is pretty sizeable so I question the sanity of any fan that willingly suggests Dak is a better QB.

On the road. Lesser supporting cast. Conservative gameplan. Went in and beat him, right in the middle of the ring so to speak.

All the tweets, and the smack from our fan base and theirs. The talking heads "Oh I would take Wentz over Dak".

He went in and beat him. There's so much to like with Prescott. Would have hung 350 on them if we just take the training wheels off in the second half and let the guy sling it; which we never do. He always has a huge first half then we go conservative.

That said - he outplayed Wentz. Still take our guy.

Anyone who would take Dak over Wentz should have to wear a homer dunce cap whenever they go out in public. Lol

My point is...the draft position is a moot point. I liked Romo. I like Dak. There are and were QBs I'd take over either one.

Dak did perform better......but he still needs to be in the film room and look at what he's missing. Accuracy continues to be a work in progress too. Been the starter too long now to not see all the field. Missed several opportunities tonight. Play-calling in the redzone is a crap shoot, so the staff doesn't help him often.

They were never far enough behind, where they needed to play catch up with the passing game, until late in the 4th. They just don't have the running game we have.
Was a combo of both things.
They couldn't run it early and they were behind all game.
Josh Adams actually ran it well they just didn't give him many carries.

The entire 4th Philly was chasing the game because when they scored we did too keeping the pressure on.
44 passes to 14 actual rushes.

But that's not the point the other poster is making.

He's bringing in draft position as vital to the discussion. Essentially that arguing a 4th round pick on an average QB is better than a first round pick you traded for who likely will be one of the 5-7 best QBs in football.

But I think they just have more faith in their passing game than they do in their running game. I don't think they were passing so much out of a sense of urgency.

LOL.

He's the guy who laughed at me for mocking Travis Frederick in the late 1st round. He was a mid round pick at best.

Every time he pretends to be a draft expert I flashback to that.

Negative ghost rider. Got the win & played better but not even close to outplaying Wentz. And make no mistake Wentz wasn't at the top of his game, especially the first half.

Seems to me Prescott missed a lot of open receivers including Gallup once again for a big play if not a score and he's still bailing out of a protected pocket because he has no feel back there.

It's weird how whenever he plays "really well" Zeke Elliott has a huge day.

A franchise QB can carry his team not have to be carried by his RB.

This year you are correct. Last year when they were good, they were 3rd in the league in rushing.

They definitely had 3 or 4 drives where there was urgency because of the score and how much clock we were controlling.
Had Philly been ahead 7, I promise you they would have ran it far more.

if Dak has to have Zeke run for 150+ every time to be successful, we are in trouble. if we had a good QB we would have blown the eagles out

Zeke's really big day didn't start until Dak had 150 yards passing but go off sis.

Got to love the fantasy football era. LOL!

Dak won the game. Carson lost the game.

Dak was clutch when he needed to be. Carson wasn’t.

Dak didn’t turn the ball over. Carson did.

Dak was on the road. Carson was at home.

Dak’s kicker missed a 42 yarder. Carson’s kicker was perfect and nailed a 56 yarder.

And yet, because of Wentz’s raw passing totals, people are actually arguing that Wentz had the better game!?!?!?

I don't know who's saying he had a better game, but he played better. The rest of his team didn't.

There are more than a few Philly fans becoming disillusioned with Wentz. He puts up nice stats but isn't coming through in the clutch, the loss tonight, the endzone INT in the final moments of the game to lose against Carolina , the Titans OT loss, etc. There's quite a few wanting Foles to take over or worrying about paying him $30+ Million/yr for a guy that puts up stats but not wins. They have only scored more than 24 points once this year, and that was against the Giants, and aren't sure he can carry a team like a QB making that amount should.
Hmmm.....i have heard this before....not sure where???????

:)
