How does Jerry watch a game like that and think Garrett is acceptable?

It is daily clockwork. The Garrett haters EVERY DAY start a conversation with it's sole purpose of REPEATING their hatred for Garrett. What's sad is they actually think it will somehow have an affect on his tenure like Jones sits and reads these boards. If the national media hasn't gotten to him the whiners here sure aren't going to.
Yet here you are WHINING about those giving there opinion about garrot.

That we're trending downward as an organization. That we have 'no hope' of winning a Superbowl this season, and that we're venturing into Fisher's Rams territory.

We went from 13-3 to 9-7 an are now on pace for 8-8. Results on the decline every year -- is that not the very definition of trending downward?

There is no hope of winning a Super Bowl. You're free to believe otherwise. Some people believe in pixies and fairies too.

Full of explosive offenses? I can name Saints, Rams, Chiefs, Patriots and Steelers (at times). Who are the others? I am not talking about teams every now and then. The Bills have scored in the 40s. So have the Ravens. So has Dallas. I am talking consistently. There just aren't many.

20 teams are averaging at least 350 yards per game this year. Half that did last year. Seven teams are averaging 400+ yards per game, none did last year.

11 teams are averaging at least 26 points per game this year, five did last year.

NFL teams are moving the ball and scoring at an insane pace this year. We are not.

That game wouldn't have been won by everyone. The D led by Ware didn't force a single punt and allowed Manning who was almost as slow as Frankenstein run in for a score. That game was all Romo. If Dak had been the QB... It would've been a massacre.

So he blocked for himself, he caught the ball himself? Football takes a team others have to step up. Romo had a big game no question yet in the end we were 8-8 does Romo share in that?

That game last night just stresses the importance of a good defense and a running game. Slow the game down and get timely stops. Not sure if we have the defense but we could be getting there.

You get the sense that the league is passing us by when you watch teams like the Rams and Chiefs. Compare that performance to the dink and dank crap we had to sit through yesterday for 3 hours against one of the worst defenses in the league and it's easy to see why some find it hard to be optimistic about this team even after 2 straight wins. This is a slow walk to the slaughterhouse if this team makes the playoffs.

After 10+ years, Garrett should have our offense running like a well-oiled machine. How does Jerry and Stephen not even blink while witnessing other coaches achieve it in a 1/5th of the time afforded to Garrett? I just don't get it. Is comfortability THAT important?

What the Garrett haters don't get is in 2016 when the Cowboys had the best O-line in the NFL that opened holes for Elliott and allowed time for Prescott to go through his reads, who incidentally was offensive rookie of the year, and the Cowboys went 13 - 3. Now with only 40% of that line and until just the past couple of games that line wasn't opening holes for Elliott and not giving Prescott enough time to do more than just his 1st read and then either have to take off or get sacked. Also this line has been penalized more and between that and the sacks the Cowboys have been in long yardage downs way to much. Now the defense has played better this season and have kept the Cowboys from being completely blown out in their losses in 3 of the 5 losses. The biggest reason I think Jones has not made any changes with Garrett is because he's seen what this team WITH Garrett can do when healthy. The Cowboys got rid of the players that were not producing on the field and were a problem in the locker room and sidelines.

I would KILL for Andy Reid's resume the last 20 years. Are you serious?
He has one playoff win since the 2008 season with the eagles. There's a lot more coaches out there I would rather have. Not Garrett, but let's not act like andy Reid is some godly coach.

He puts up points in the regular season

Im NOT a Garrett supporter but neither team played defense last night. Somehow and somewhere while everyone falls all over themselves complementing the 50 point scores it is necessary to acknowledge garbage defense being played.

I know most expect us to get blown out by the high powered Saints offense, but I dont think it happens. We may lose but they wont run us out of the stadium like many predict. Football doesn't start and end with offense.

Its time for a change at HC and QB. This offense has to be nearly perfect in order to be effective. Although I think Dak can be a good QB at times, he still leaves too many big plays out on the field. Rather it be scheme, QB, lack of talent, whatever, its time for a new voice.

Read the entire post to understand what I'm saying.

The Defense did not show up for that game.

Without Romo that 8-8 season is a 4-12 or 3-13 season...

Let's see where we end up. We're on a pace the last two weeks to end up 11-5. It all depends where you want to take your measurement from. (I don't think we'll end up 11-5).

You can say all you want that there's 'no hope' of winning a Superbowl, but 5-5 teams have done it before, so it's not true. We'd agree if you had said there's little hope of winning a Superbowl, but that's the case for most teams. You watch the games because there's a chance. Otherwise, what's the point?

yeah we would be 4-12, Romo did not have much success in post season and in many cases got our butts handed to us. I loved the guy but this notion he was beyond mistakes is a crook, he made mistakes and sometimes costly ones. We had seasons where the defense were very good. I never once put it all on Romo on the other you bet he shared in it.

I agree (somewhat) but its easier to find a coach/coordinator than it is a franchise QB. I support Dak, but thats because hes our QB plain and simple. Better QBs dont grow on trees. If an opportunity arises for a clear upgrade then by all means, until then I hope his flashes and spurts become more consistent and he develops into a better player. I like the kid and I think he has talent, maybe in the right system with seasoning he is a long term answer. We wont likely know though if we dont taylor the offense to his skill set.

No one has ever said that Romo was beyond mistakes but he rarely had a D that could bail him out if he did make a mistake. What did the D do after Romo threw that int? Did they stiffen up and keep the Broncos from scoring again? Nope they didn't.

If it wasn't for his turnovers, the Rams are closer to 30 points. They scored 14 on defense and also set them up on a short field as well.

At some point you have to run some clock and give your defense some rest.

But mahomes had his shot at the end and came up short with a bad throw. I don't hold the last possession against him as there was not enough time anyway

....30 points should still be getting you wins. There is no justification here, the Chiefs secondary is absolute trash and it will be the end of them in the playoffs.
