Is Dak unpopular because it is now a passing league?

and here we go with the Das Lovers brining up Romo. this has nothing to do with Romo. it has to do with Dak's average performance on the field. Das is a bus driver and there is nothing wrong with that.
Yeah that you criticize Dak you must love Romo talk is some of the laziest stuff going. It is noooo way nobody could think Dak is avg by his own avg numbers but all based on Romo who retired two years ago. The Dak lovers mention Romo more than anybody else on this forum to be honest. Dak is avg on his own merit no need to compare him to anybody

How long does the "Still learning tag," get to ply out. This is his 3rd season as a full time starter. Im serious, at one point do you say he is NOT "Still learning?"

Well if we want to be technical about it, QBs are always learning. Romo didn't hit the field until 2006 and he was signed in 2003. He improved a lot from 2006 to 2014.

"Oh geez, it's so scary out there , I mean why draft anymore players right? I mean , Xavier Woods is an ok player , so why draft or try to sign another safety... I mean , it's hard to find a Troy Palomalu or Ed Reed so might as well stick with Woods "

By the way very few quarterbacks can survive without a running game. It isn't easy. To say "he can't survive without zeke", find me quarterbacks that don't have quality runners. Maybe Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady? Rodgers can carry a team on his back, but has always said he'd be better with a quality RB. Brady, NE's short passing game is sort of like a running game anyway, its a solid system.

Drew Brees - Has Kamara and Ingram.
Big Ben - Leveon Bell all those year.
Goff - Has always had Gurley
Mahomes - Kareem Hunt

Just some examples.

What separates those guys from dak is can dak win a shootout type game? He played in one in the playoffs years ago with Rodgers and played well. However we'll see if he can get it done in the future.

My biggest positive with dak. He's starting to adjust back to the league. It took some time, but past 6 or so games he's been very good.

I think some people fail to acknowledge that it's really hard to accurately judge Dak because we don't know how much of the problem lies with the offensive coaching stubbornly trying to make him into a QB that he's not rather than playing to his strengths. They also got him a career backup as QB coach that was never any good on the field. That's a large couple of handicaps for his development. That being said, he holds on to the ball to long and stares down receivers rather than quickly going through reads. He still needs to work on his footwork and anticipating when receivers will be open rather than wait for them to be really open. With Cooper, that appears to be improving some, if not slowly.

Linehan needs to go. He's not the right OC for this QB (or pretty much any QB). They need a better QB coach as well to help Dak with those skills he's struggling with. Right now, he's a bus driver with potential to be more. He regressed a little but seems to be slowly improving again with a little better protection. He has a long way to go, but has the time given the trade for Cooper. I just hope Linehan hasn't ruined him long-term.

All he needed was some better blocking and a competent receiver. You were this over and over and over again. Obviously you still dont get it.

289 yards passing 2 TD's and another rushing TD on a play only a few QB's in the NFL could make. Yah, he sucks. LOL

Cant throw the ball. :lmao2::lmao:

Makes you look foolish. "Dak has regressed"

Wrong again.
Implying that Dak hasnt had any issues with accuracy this year. Smh. When Dak has a clean pocket and still overthrows his receivers, who's fault is it then? Of course Dak deserves credit for his play these past 3 games, but dude you cant deny he's was terrible the first half of the season. Even now he's still sailing balls.

Remember when Romo was unpopular because “he threw too many interceptions” and he “wasn’t clutch”? Yeah.

Many of our fans are just idiots.
Romo had to put the team on his back every week for 11 years, Dak doesn't have to. Also, Romo is up there in 4th quarter comebacks and game winning drives.

These Dak fanboys are hilarious.! :lmao2:

Dak just caps what we can do offensively along with our terrible offensive scheme.

I like Dak. Great intangibles but throwing the football is not his thing.

I think when the machine is rolling he can help enhance it with his running but he’s not a guy we can depend on to carry us.

The first chance we get to upgrade we should do it.

I love how the teams Romo played on, are getting incrementally worse and worse as time goes on.

It’s almost to the point that those teams would have been 0-16 if it weren’t for Romo.

Going to the playoffs and playing for championships will make Dak popular with everyone.

His winning wave in Rookie season is what won over our hearts. Just win!!! The rest will take care of itself.

We had the Cowboys all time leading passer in Romo and he was bashed cause lack of team success.

It’s no wonder Dak with his meager passing ability and stats are being bashed without more team success.

Winning cures all ills!! Just Do It

Ya or as if all of his team mates are just straight garbage. Romo played with a boat load of pro bowlers of course that particular analogy only apples to other qbs because they didn’t play with a punctured lung

Check out the crappy play on the offensive line this drive. Look at the total yards statistics for the second half at the point that comes up shortly after the video starts and look who's calling the plays. When Romo had time he delivered to guys like Laurent Robinson. When he was under pressure due to broken plays and assignments he delivered. The problem is the latter happened far more times than the former in his career and you just can't expect one person to keep delivering every time there is a busted or broken play.

I think that is a big part of the reason why, yes.

However, this is also what this fan-base does. People wanted Brady Quinn over Romo, Kitna to start over Romo, Stephen freaking McGee to start over Romo.... These forums have done it all.

Earlier in the season people started randomly blaming Zeke......

Dak is built like a bull (knock on wood) and leads the league in rushing TDs (among QBs). There is a direct linear relationship between his rushing attempts and us winning games. He should be taking off at least 4 times a game. With Cooper on the outside, and the threat of Zeke the freak, Dak's running ability is truly the x-factor.

There's a reason why we were always incredibly bad every time Romo was out. And by the time Dak came, the team was finally peaking. Dak is very fortunate to have an O-line that consists of 2-3 minimim all pros every year, a top 2 runningback, and and the best defense we've seen in a very long time.

Granted Dak would probably perform better with a new coaching staff, but still wouldn't be the passer Romo was. I'm literally tired of seeing this inconsistent offense. Dak could be a top 10 QB if he just worked on his accuracy and pocket presence. I wanna see it before I believe it.

People wanna poke fun at Romo for being "Injury prone", but it's not his fault. He's had to run for his life his whole career. He took a beating on that drive and was STILL throwing dots left and right. What a drive.. wish we could still march down the field like that. Our offense is so damn boring and inconsistent.

It’s now a passing league, high flying league. It’s not “sexy” to run the ball. Smash mouth football is dying and the NFL set-up the game with new rules for Fantasy Footballers / Fan Duelers to make it exciting to throw for 500 yards a game and end up with a final score of 54-51.

The new generation of football fans don’t understand the advantage of a power run offense and controlling the clock. So, Dak isn’t popular because he’s not a gunslinger. It doesn’t matter if you win or lose, fans these days just want to see long bomb throws all day and don’t care if they go 0-16 while doing it.
:huh::huh::huh::huh::huh::huh::huh: :huh:

Yeah, the new generation of fan born after 1906 when the first forward pass was thrown in a game just can't seem to appreciate Dak for some reason.
