Is Dak unpopular because it is now a passing league?

Like I said before ...... not allowed to talk about the real reasons and the evidence ......... so piss off and go imagine a world where the QB's look like you want them to.
You have no evidence that's why you can't talk about it besides gobbling Dak stats up.

The Cowboys are playing low risk football.....Run the ball, control the clock, be conservative in the passing game (short passing with occasional long ball) to minimize turnovers, and try to keep the defense off the field. Its not sexy and exciting but its more efficient and consistent. In order to work, the run game needs to carry the bulk of the load and the blocking needs to be on point. Watch the games where QBs just sling it around.....Its high risk high reward. Its easier to run up the score on a team but you tire out your defense and especially so when you start throwing picks. I would say our type of system is perfect to protect a young, inexperienced, and growing QB and to help him thrive.

Of all the QBs in NFL history to throw 900+ passes in their first 3 seasons combined, only one has a completion pct. higher than 65%, and only one has an INT pct. lower than 1.75%

They kinda dig deep for some useless stats in many cases. Seeing as how Drew Brees threw 160 more times in 2016 alone. Probably close to 300 more times in those 3 seasons so far.

Pretty sure that skews it a bit lol. Where do these people come up with these meaningless stats? Not to mention how many passes were 20+ air yards. Which are higher risk/higher reward passes.

I get people loving Dak, but man... talk about stretching reality.

So:

Most wins with 1+ TD passes and 1+ TD runs, 2016-18:

There aren't exactly a ton of QB running TDs per season... only a handful of QBs do it. So if you are comparing him against 5 other QBs that did it, what meaning does that have as a legitimate stat?

How many running TDs do you see pure pocket passers make per season? Go look up Brady, Brees, and the people they want to compare to like that. See how many rushing attempts, let alone TDs they make...

I think these statistics are from people who have no business doing statistics lol.

Let's just stick to the real aspects of the current output from QB position. Statements like this one only undermine your credibility even if you are just kidding. Which I get that you are - but many at this forum will lack a sense of humor on THIS subject.

Not me that was post of the thread and the grown man reply was even better. I'm still laughing.

I'd rather bring Payton to Dallas. Dak doesn't have Bree's skill set, but he's better than he's shown.
If anyone could get the most out of Dak it would be Payton! First thing he would do if he came to Dallas would be to bring in a 3rd down scat back and run some two back sets with both guys going out for short screens.

Let's bring in some competition at the QB position next year. If Dakota is an GREAT as some here think, he should have no problem winning back his job.

FWIW my takes.

1. He impressed me early on. From the Rams preseason game(2016) on. The game didn't look too fast/big for him. to me, really showed me some poise and confidence going out there in 16 and playing error free while providing some needed spark in the passing game most games.
2. Somewhere in Atlanta in 2017 he lost his confidence. And this year I got concerned watching him second guess a lot. Maybe it's the talent at receiver, maybe it's the routes maybe its... IDC, I just want it fixed.
3. Every QB will have down games. Him struggling a few times a year doesn't mean much. Outside of KC/LA, most QB's will have meh games.
4. Especially when you have a conservative HC/OC/gameplan, and a lack of quick uptempo offense.
5. It seems he doesn't trust something lately. His arm, the receiver, the coverage, thinking too much? Now with Cooper in the fold, maybe he has that WR he knows will run that perfect route/ability to be open?
6. I feel we need to at the very least remove Linehan and Moore and have a more innovative OC. Let's not forget about Zeke, but I would like to see an OC in here that can bring some more spread/uptempo offense(at times) and use Zeke like Gurley. A NFCE win would secure Garrett, but we need new blood in playcalling/playbook.
7. I'm convinced Jones sees him as the long term QB, so I hope the team keeps on providing him with weapons, on the field and on the sidelines. There is no smokescreen there imo.
8. I don't see the FO bringing in any legit competition cause:
A: A proven QB/QB that has shown something recently will cost a lot in assets cap wise and or draft picks
B: A rookie/another drafted QB is a crapshoot. Could be legit, may not be.
C: A decent backup is something we haven't paid for since Orton.

Funny thing, pick any quarterback one chooses, and he can dig up enough film to support everyone of the complaints above...fact.
problem is Dak does it as the norm not a occasional one off; Fact

Dak could throw 5 interceptions, no TDs, with a 33% completion percentage, while the defense/ST scores 4 TDs and Zeke goes over 200 yards rushing and you guys would be talking about how Dak led the team to a win.
This. I don't think Dak is disliked because this is a passing league that's crazy talk. This has always been a passing league the game today is about balance. When you hear not one but every team we play talk about taking away Zak that alone should tell you what the rest of the league thinks of Dak. The Rams have Todd Gurley&Goff but DC talk about stopping the Rams the team not one guy. The Saints have two good RB again do we load up against the run and let Brees do what he wants? Dak is what he is a very good back up. JJ says he wouldn't take two first round picks for Dak that's good because the only fools willing to sign a backup or give away draft pick for a jag is the Cowboys FO

Shouldn't a soon to be franchise QB strength have something to do with throwing the ball?
Of course it should. Look, throwing a ball is not something that the angels put in your head before you're born. If he had someone that was actually good at it coaching him, there is no reason that "something to do with throwing the ball" cannot be learned. It isn't rocket surgery.

Take your own advice.

And stick it.
Since I'm not talking about it, your retort makes no sense whatsoever. Of course, neither does your cryptic childish nonsense!!!!!!

And your last little 3rd grade attempt at an insult is absolutely endearing!!!

Dak isn’t popular because he’s not a gunslinger. It doesn’t matter if you win or lose, fans these days just want to see long bomb throws all day and don’t care if they go 0-16 while doing it.
:huh::huh::huh::huh::huh::huh::huh: :huh:
Lol. Good post. Dak also still received scrutiny from some of our fan base (decline to point fingers) over how he was playing and the lack of points being scored at the beginning of the season.

Knowing
that the real problems with the offense belong to offensive coordinator Scott Linehan.:huh:
