The closest resemblance to what Amari is doing for us right now that I can remember is Miles Austin in 2009.
Romo in 2006. We weren’t spiraling down with Bledsoe but it didn’t look very promising. Romo sparked us to a playoff appearance . That’s about as close a scenario I can think of within the parameters I laid out.

1975 but that was about the Dirty Zozen propelling a non playoff team. Not one individual player. No one expected us to make playoffs after missing in 1974.

But that wasn’t the narration of my thread. Details Runny.. Ha
The premise of your thread was All Time Cowboys MVP, not, "Who turned the season around the most?". If that was what you were truly asking, then I might agree, but I don't consider Cooper more valuable than the guys I mentioned.

Yeah, the Romo scenario is another good one. I wouldn't know anything about 1975 since that was 4 years before I was born.

Cowboys All Time MVP! No, I wouldn't say All Time, maybe MVP the last couple of weeks. IMO, you need to be on the team longer than 5 years qualify for the All Time title.
Almost like saying DeMarco Murray is the greatest RB in Cowboy history because he set the single-season team rushing record. Um, No...

So you or the other poster makes a claim he has game winning drives but don't even mention the context of those drives? Ok. Romo walks on water. Sorry. Forgot. where I was at.

*Pushes goalpost back to where it was*..
Romo walks on water. Hilarious. Let's review:

First statement: "...we are flawed at quarterback just like we were then except this time around our quarterback has a knack for showing up in the 4th quarter of games."

Conclusion: Prescott has performed better in the fourth quarter of games than his predecessor, Romo.

Counter statement: "Romo is tied at 19th in NFL history for game winning drives."

Conclusion: Romo may or did have more fourth quarter success than his successor, Prescott.

Counter-counter statement: "How many game winning drives does he have in the playoffs or win and get in games? Is he 19th all time in that too?"

Conclusion: Secondary counter-argument modified the initial statement identifying 'all' fourth quarter games into specific fourth quarter games pertaining only to either postseason contests or "elimination games".

A goalpost moved.

Never saw a player more important to the team than than ES #22. Staubach at #2.

...greatest trade in Cowboys history to save a team and season from certain collapse.

The above is your personal speculation.

“Certain collapse” was never certain and cannot be proven by FACT as being the inevitable conclusion of this season, had the Amari trade not been made.

Great trade, put tap the brakes a bit.

It’s difficult spelling out the narration in a title .

If you read thru the post you’d seen I mentioned other MVP’s that didn’t fit the criteria .

I’d call it a pretty certain speculation. Lol

True but again they didn’t come into a spiraling season headed to a collapse on a non playoff team.

None of those situations matched this one IMO.

0-2 was a tough start but they were the defending Champs.

A goalpost moved.

How am I moving goal posts when you rebuttal who's better in 4th quarters you bring up what Romo did his WHOLE CAREER knowing Dak is only a 3rd year pro. But I'm the goal post mover?

I simply asked a question since we wanted to bring up he's 19th in game winning drives. IS he 19th in win or go home games and playoff games?

I don't think it necessarily has to be Cooper but a #1 wide receiver. The boys were lacking and Cooper happened to be on the block. But Cooper may be the best fit out of anyone that could be traded for.

Then name another player who resurrected a spiraling Cowboy team in the fashion Cooper has since the trade?

Well the point was the Cowboys had some very good teams......and you randomly brought up Romo's "game winning drives"........
Randomly?...You brought up Romo, and how we now have a QB who shows up in the 4th qtr............How can you possibly try to deflect my response as randomly bringing up Romo's game winning drives?

That’s redirecting the question.

Or could be considered moving the goalpost since you didn’t want to address his question or comment.
