Current list of all QB salaries and Dak *The $25 Million Worth Merge*

so Dak is worth Brady money ?
Economics explain professional contracts far better than Finance, which is what most people understand. Contracts are seldom signed based on rings, trophies, wins, statistics, etc. Most contracts are finalized according to the economic value placed on the player.

To answer your question? Not exactly. Will Prescott receive 'Brady money'? That question depends on how valuable Dak Prescott is to Jerry Jones.

I would tell him "you want 3 pro bowl lineman, an all-pro runningback and a pro bowl WR then your gonna play at $18-20 million".

I really doubt he's gonna say no i'll take maybe 3 or 4 million more a year and gamble with a ****** lowend team ??

No, but neither are any of the other guys right around the $20m mark. Hence, the QB market is inflated.

that pretty well sums it up, as usual who knows with Jerry. Have a nice holiday season.

Brady always makes his money in guarantees and bonuses anyways. His cap hit isn't reflective of what he makes.
actually it is.... that is exactly what a cap hit... all the money that has been paid to him, including base salaries and signing bonuses

Brady has consistently taken less money than other top QBs

Do you? You're the guy that thinks AJ McCarron is a better pick up than Dak.

What do you want Dak to prove? 13-3 in his rookie campaign, mounts an incredible comeback in the divisional round, then gets beaten by an all-time great pass and catch by Rodgers on 3rd and 20 and a 50+ yard Crosby FG eog. He doesn't play defense, yo.

9-7 during his sophomore campaign with no RB for 6 games and no WR threats.

8-5 right now and riding a 5 game win streak. No WR1 to start the year. Beasley (!) was the leading receiver after 6 games.

One thing is certain: Jones and company know more about football than anyone posting here. Dak's their guy. Move on.

It would seem this guy is just a TROLL..

No, all of the restructuring and pro-rated bonuses drive down his cap number. Actual cash payouts isn't always = cap. This year, he added $5m in incentives, but they converted his salary to signing bonus so his cap hit didn't go up. Next year, his cap number will be $27m, but his cash payouts will only be $15m.

He also takes less than market value, everyone knows this, and he signed his last extension when the cap was, what, $30m lower than it will be next year? I'm not sure what your point is.

Taking an educated guess Daks next contract will land somehere between Aaron Rogers and Kurt Benkert

It all has to be accounted for eventually

He only has 1 year left on his deal with 12m in Dead Money .... that isn't enough to bump his 15m APY to even 20m APY, which would still be low

He has only made over 20m in one year and that is 22m this year

He is criminally underpaid because his old lady makes 50m a year showing her butt

Ok? But I still don't get what your point is.

Good for you, im glad you like to overpay average quarterbacks I guess

Im not signing a QB ranked 25th 20 mill a year.....matter of fact i wouldnt sign him at all, i would get a better quarterback
It is not simply a matter of "overpaying an average quarterback". More than anything else, it is simply a matter of market forces.

As much as I detest the thought of an average QB making $20 million per year, it is what the market pays. And, believe me, at such point that the Cowboys and Dak's agent meet to formally discuss an extension, both sides will have "slotted" Dak into the continuum of QB salaries.

Stealing a line from another thread, "it is, what it is". That doesn't mean it is a foregone conclusion that we must re-sign Dak. It just means for that level of production, average or not, the team will be paying in the range of 15-20+ million for a QB (unless, of course, they are still on their rookie contract)

he might draw interest in denver, miami, or jacksonville.

Miami doesn't see Dak as an upgrade to Tannehill. Both Jacksonville and Denver overpaid for QB that had a decent season but everyone knew they were very flawed doubt they will trip over the same stone twice. Dallas will only be bidding against themselves.
