Is anyone enjoying watching Dallas play?
This just occurred to me in another thread. As usual I haven't missed a dallas game this year, but I'm enjoying watching other teams play much more.
So I'm just curious. How many of you watch other teams play? How many of you are, like me, enjoying those other games more?
Of course the final win or loss means much more to me for Dallas, but the actual act of watching the game, so many other teams are actually enjoyable to watch, even if we are a playoff team.
We just look like idiots with the way we can't move the ball and can't score and have this scheme that looks putrid when you actually watch other teams play.
Sometimes I watch how other offenses work and I'm not convinced Dallas is even playing the same sport right now. We look like the NFL version of when a Latin American country sends people to the winter olympics. We're there, it's technically the same game, but we have no idea how to play it like the top teams do.
I’m not posting in this thread to argue with you....if you think we’re ugly to watch, so be it.
But I’m not convinced you’re being objective, and you’re definitely speaking in hyperbole.
Case in point- post quoted above.
In fact, the general theme of your posts in this thread is to focus specifically on what’s unappealing about Dallas, and then focus on what is appealing about pretty much every other team.
Overall we’ve had one of the best defenses in the entire league this year, but when they play fantastic football and hold off the opposition you characterize it as them “dragging the other team into the mud with us”. And when we get big plays on offense, it’s characterized as “we sucked until we got lucky on a couple pot shots”. I mean c’mon man.
I agree.Sure. Idc. I'm not the one who started the comparison of this team to one of the greatest teams of all time.
Idc who or why. This isn't a blame thread. The oline, dak, jason, Scott, jerry, the water boy, pick your poison.
The fact of the matter is that the Dallas offense is about the worst offense to watch right now in terms of general game quality.
The culture of mediocrity. Strap it, its going to be a long ride. Stephen is gearing it up to keep the course steady as daddy set it.
I’m optimistic by nature...until I see the old man in the owners box who runs this thing, lol!Love your threads Bob. Also like the eternal optimism viewpoint.
My inner Andy Dufrain (sp?) and his classic movie lines regarding how hope was a good thing comes to mind in these trying times as a Boys fan.
It's just that hope ain't the best x's and o's strategy when facing superior coaching minds and carrying an inferior field general into battle on a weekly basis. Hope only gets us so far...lol.
Great analogyThe Cowboys are a tough watch.
When we have the ball, I feel like it's one of those medicine balls we're trying to lug down the field.
Damn bro, you look like an old time fan with your avatar. Remember the first 8 years for the franchise? Did you give up on Landry before 1971? Damn, imagine if we had
Yes,and no. They make a lot of good plays, but make a lot of really bad ones,so it’s a frustrating experience. But it’s exciting to go from 3-5 to being in it,and every game is something to look forward to. You can keep the TEN and IND type of showings though, that’s not enjoyable football to watch.
COWBOYS AGAINST THE WORLD
This. I don't like the parody so much. I love watching smart, talented and effective football teams working together in 3 distinct units. Players, coaches, even front offices who demand perfection like the old days. I appreciate a very strategic game plan and innovative plays. The way a defense can call an offensive formation and make a play as a unit.No I've actually had a blast watching Chicago play this season. I've followed KC here and there as well.
As usual, I haven't missed a Dallas game but I just don't have the same hype that I used to. Watching Dallas play is an emotional rollercoaster and it's hard for me to really get invested when I watch them make the same mistakes over and over.
There is just no demand for perfection with this organization from the top down. It's sad that all JJ wants is football respect, and every year it slips further from his grasp based on his own doing or undoing of what was a very proud franchise.I’m optimistic by nature...until I see the old man in the owners box who runs this thing, lol!
