It's sad, we really have a Superbowl team, 1 position holds us back

People are so damn eager for the team to fail with Dak. It's like they are foaming at the mouth, ready to pop their champagne, and celebrate.
Personally not eager. I thought in the Packers playoff game Dak's rookie year and the way Dak almost came back to win it really showed a lot. Since then, its just not been there. Sure, even the best QBs have bad games but they are also consistently good and don't have glaring holes in their game. Biggest worry is Dallas has to let go of a good amount of impact talent to make room for a QB that is just serviceable most days. I will say that I personally think Dak would be an outstanding backup for a team. I just don't think hes a franchise guy. Maybe I will be wrong, but there is a reason some aren't too convinced on Dak at all.

Alot of peeps in this forum are comparing Tony and Dak but neither of these 2 QBs ever had an offense that could beat the Blitz consistently enough to beat a good playoff defense. There's never been any rotation with the tes so it's a weak predictable offense on 3rd down that's never been playoff worthy since the slot wrs and hybrid tes took over the passing league 20 years ago. Sure if Zeke can put up 3 130-150 yard performances and score 6 TDS over a 3 game span we might win w a better defense but when you break it all down we're gonna lose because we're gonna get the pressure dialed up and there's gonna be a blunderous result even if Brady or Rogers was back there also. Lol. They are gonna make them beat the blitz on third down with the tes and there's just not the talent there to do so

If you'll watch the defense they will always let the te catch the ball short of the markers. He's open until he gets to the chains but when he gets to the chains all the separation is Gone. Our tes have a we'll documented history of catching the ball short of the markers when it matters along with being pathetic receivers after the catch or on 3rd and long and in the red zone . When you're getting blitzed and that's all your QB has it will be the same results. Another blunderous play and a bunch of coulda woulda shouldas from these tes who never win us any games but wasting all of our passing snaps. It could be 3rd and 30 and carrot top would still throw Witten out there to beat the BLITZ and with no yacs he'd catch that 6 yard pass and be lucky to get 7 yards lol. He's not even qualified for the down and distance just that 1 seam pass for 8-10 yards max. We're running plays based upon yacs from our tes and they got no yacs in their skillsets .but we got the completion just so we could punt the ball. It's the same sorry offense as it was w Romo or Dak. Always one stud te away from being competitive at the playoff level

Not to reiterate the obvious,,, but our x#9,,,prolly,quite EASILY would've had our #89 up to 5 t.d.'s& 400 yards after the 3rd game of this seasons schedule,ya know,,, just sayingo_O

This is one game in which you can't blame one thing on the loss. The defense was atrocious for this particular game (today. the worst unit on the field!)Special teams below average and offense struggled but probably was not the worst unit out there against the Colts.

I agree, that was pathetic across the board. Team did not look ready in any phase of the game. Players and coaches share in this loss.

Gavin Escobar John Phillips Martellus Bennett, James Hanna. You can take all of their DC stats and combine them all and they still couldn't produce the stats of one good te in a season Lol. All of these guys were scrubs for us as receivers.

That's what they said about James Hanna and Gavin Escobar but that never materialized either. All these tes are no better receivers then those guys.

Dak or Tony couldn't increase Wittens scoring production either. 82 was a 4 TD a year guy with either of our QBs.

I'd agree w Dez but not any of these tes. There hasn't been a good red zone te since 82 was in his prime a hundred yrs ago it seems.

A completion is not a touchdown. Unfortunately that's about all the accolades we have at the te position. Ain't none of our tes going to the Hof based upon their scoring production .

Romo never had a defense close to this defense

So, Romo isn't good enough to get it done and get to the promise land without a top 2 Defense? Seems like those who say that the Defense/Zeke is the one that is winning games and not Dak. And that it's the defense/Zeke that is carrying Dak. Seems like some Cowboys fans who use this narrative, would be more than willing to give Romo all or at least some of the credit, if he had won the Superbowl with the 2016-2018 Cowboys. Even though he couldn't get there with the teams he had before the 2016 Cowboys.

While, no credit goes to Dak at all and it's just all the defense/Zeke. And some hoped and wished that Romo would come in 2016, finish off the season and get some or all of the glory. Being selective in what QBs you do or don't want to give some credit to, based or how fans with certain agendas like/Support or dislike/ don't support a QB.

You could give either QB a #1 defense and the outcomes would be similarly unsuccessful because neither of these QBs and rbs cannot beat the monotony of the formations and personnel groups that lead to the inevitable Blitz that our offense can't ever beat when it matters!!! Our offense has always been streaky but never Clutch because of it.

Here comes the 3rd and 4th down plays where you double up coverage on the skilled players who can beat you and force The QB to throw it to guys incapable of beating anyone because it's a hot read and your only quick open guy can't win because he has no rac or tackle breaking abilities.

These defenses have us fooled by giving up these rinky dink completions on 1st and 2nd down to our tes but they never work in the 4th quarter during all those 8-8 seasons and it won't work now.

They'll dare you to throw it to the non Scoring te because they know there is no rac in their skillsets as indicated by their Zeros in the TD column

Top 2? Itd been nice to see him have a top 20 defense lol
daks young and still learning. But if this defense wasnt legit Dallas would be sitting at 2-4 wins right now for sure.

Pretty sure that Romo had a top 20 defense and in fact a top ten defense more than once in his career.
