17-0 Texas.
(the team Ou beat in the Big XII Championship Game is beating the team Bama beat in the SEC Title Game).
maybe the committee got it right.
just sayin'.

Nobody is complaining about OU belonging in the playoff. ND is the one folks are questioning.

some folks round here posted that sentiment bout Ou.
no shame in losing to the #1 team in the nation....that is doing something we may never see again.

Was ND not worthy because they were blown out by Clemson?

Winning all your games if your a major program should carry some weight.
and atleast they didn't play abuncha cup cakes.
michigan,fsu,nwestern,vandy,wake,usc...not like they played ut-chattanooga or anything.

It wasn’t their fault Seminole’s and USC we’re down . Northwestern won Big 10 west . Vandy went to a bowl. And Mich was a top 10 team most of the year.

No, this was about fans who just wanted Ohio St or Georgia in there. Or think there’s a purity to being top 4 without the ranking. Easy answer. Win all of your games or someone else will decide if you’re good enough.

Determing Div 1 champion is a flawed system. Always has been. The playoff system didn’t totally fix it.

Didn’t watch the game but surprised UGA loss. I guess they weren’t as good as we thought. SEC took a little blow and can’t complain about getting two teams in. Good win for Texas.

Interesting read on why not to expand the playoff. The games versus #1 & #8 and #2 &#7 could be even worse. http://www.espn.com/college-footbal...-football-playoff-simply-create-more-blowouts

"The games stank. Average winning margin: 20 points. Of 27 bowls played going into Monday, only 10 had a one-score margin at any time during the fourth quarter. Things got better over the past two days, when nine of 11 games were decided by one score (eight points or fewer)."

To add on to two posts above, there are now way too many bowl games making the games watered down and absolutely BLAH. Like I was 'trying' to explain to the wife yesterday, I miss the New Year's Day where bowl games started @ 11am EST, there were games on every channel causing you to master the remote if you didn't want to miss a play and feeling so hung over that all you wanted to do was to close your eyes but you were so afraid of missing a game that you didn't dare try. I get that ratings equals cash and playing one game, during a specific time slot, maximizes those ratings but the NCAA has ruined what the true meaning of New Year's Day was and that was FOOTBALL.

SEC runner-ups rarely ever play well in meaningless bowl games. Auburn lost last year..........Florida got beat up pretty bad the year before. It is no surprise at all. Texas is an up and coming program that was far more excited to be in the Sugar Bowl than UGA and that was pretty obvious from the games opening minutes until the end.

IMO, this is why they need to expand the playoffs. Same thing happened to Michigan who got blown out by Florida. Rashan Gary doesn't play........the staff is more interested in recruiting than preparing for a game. Coaches move on and don't stick around. UGA's defense was run by committee after their DC departed in december to be a head coach. While Alabama's OC whose also a HC in waiting stuck around b/c the game mattered. The playoff teams didn't have guys sitting out for fear of injury ect.

The NCAA just needs to go all in and stop dipping its toe in the playoff waters. They've made a mess of New Years Day and they need to fix it. You can't have a full day of football exhibitions that don't matter.

Yes. Tune in. I'm not inventing a story. The argument is that they didn't beat anyone. Their SOS was only 25. OSU's was 3rd.
Why wasn’t that reflected in the poll rankings?

Because winning all your games is more important than who you beat. I didn’t make up the rules.
