Who cares if they knew. Football is all about execution. Just ask Jason Garret.

Now kick in bunch fakes and misdirections.....

And execution. I saw this earlier and its only half the battle, you still have to pull off the stunts and blocks once you the sets. The Rams did both.

We gave up an average of 94 yards rushing per game this season but 270 yesterday. Trippling the number is, IMO, one third this preperation, one third scheme and one third execution.

To be honest, this is probably more about McVay and two weeks of preparation than our players or coaches. Pretty sure the same defensive tenacities have been there ALL year but other teams didn't or couldn't take advantage.

Agree, I typed my post above before I read your second post. In the World Series, everyone in the park may know a fastball is coming - but you still have to hit it.

They have better coaching. Starts with JG on our end. Dudes mediocre. Been that way since he was hired as OC. Their coach is 32 and on his way to NFC championship game,? How long has McVay been at it compared to JG,,,? But our owner will believe JG when he says its all about execution and totally absolving him of any blame. JG might just be a sneaky conman. Good at what he does. How else can u explain them at the door of extending this guy with only 2 playoff victories in 8 years and 6 never winning a divisional round to show for for it?

BTW ( you'll like this ) just read a stat that the 270 was/is the most rushing yards EVER giving up by a Cowboy D in a playoff game. Let that sink in ......

Yea but this was more about McVay and additional preparation than Garrett IMO.

McVay reads the defense for Goff and makes the pre snap adjustments. Has since he got there.

They didn't know who they were playing till after that bears punter missed hitting the upright and crossbar after it was slight touched by an eagle. So one week to prepare just like the cowboys coaches.

Maybe after being gashed in the first half they would change something up instead of going with the same tendencies? Maybe they would have figured out the Rams know what’s coming from watching that first half whipping? I feel bad for the players because of dealing with a coaching staff that doesn’t put them in the best position to win.

Great thread. I knew all along that McVay had schemed and strategized big time for this game. It was obvious almost as if they had our defensive playbook. I don't think any cheating occurred but there is no question that McVey and his staff did their homework. Meanwhile Garrett will be giving everyone participation trophies soon.

And does anyone remember when the Saints with Sean Payton came into Dallas and demolished our offense? They had a copy of our playbook. Yesterday's game felt eerily similar, right?

Would something like this happen if Lincoln Riley were the head coach?

JG played checkers last night while McVay was playing chess.

When have you ever seen the Cowboys under Garrett that prepared with an additional week of preparation?

You have to forgive Hawkeye202 and Kaiser
They're Garrett homies so are looking for ANY angle to absolve him off any responsibility

Where else do you hear that the HC was not responsible when his team gets demolished except by Garrett homies ?

This and they kept the defense at the line and varied their snap count makiing the d commit to what they were doing and revealed it through motion.

We were destroyed by McVay.

According to Sturm, the whole idea behind McVay's misdirections and fakes to make defensive players ( especially LBers) use extra second or two LOCATING the ball making them a tad bit slower.

This explains why I heard/read others say don't sell out to stop their running game. Front seven stay at home and fill your gaps ......

Ladies and gentlemen, this is coaching......

This is nothing new. Teams have been doing this for years, even at the HS level. It helps, but their OL simply kicked our butts. They ran North and South, took away our speed and took advantage of our under sized DL. Out coached.

That explains why he hasn't responded to a simple question.
