Trial balloon?

Have Garrett come out and indicate they will bring him back, gauge the fans and media's reaction, if the negative reaction is quick and muted, keep him, it's loud and sustaining, fire him next week.
I don't think a trial balloon was needed to gauge what the reaction would be. Most of the fans and NFL world were already moving on and talking about his replacement. That went over as well as they would have announced that they were considering not selling beer at the stadium.

Well, at least Cooper is a good player!

Cooper got us to a playoff win and we will be keeping Garrett and Linehan.

Smart GM move to get Cooper by Jerry ( even though I did not think so at the time) but got us to the point that I was afraid of!

Dak, Garrett and Linehan staying for a while:thumbdown:

This is pathetic! Thanks Jason, or should I thank Jerry and Stephen?

Is Kellen this year’s scapegoat? Probably keeping him too?

I’m sure the rest of our division is laughing and shedding happy tears at this joyous news. This automatically makes everyone in our division that much better.

Hilarious!!
I also thought it was gutless for JJ not to be available to take questions after the loss. He's always available after a win. He's the "gm" and should also have to answer to his shortcomings.
WHATS his incentive? He just got embarrassed in front of millions of viewers and already has all the money and fame anyone could ever achieve. Think he gives a rats arse about talking about being embarrassed? lol...I do know this...he was none to happy.

This doesn’t mean anything either way. They’re tight enough with Linehan to run interference for him like they did for Garrett’s brother a few years back. Let him resign for another job or retire after the probowl and after the Senior Bowl job faire.

Or, they could mean it. Too soon to say.

Saying he expects Linehan back could just be a way of allowing Linehan the appearance of leaving on his terms. On the other hand, maybe he doesn't want Dak to learn a new system because next year is Garrett's prove it year.

I STILL think Linehan walks on his own after the pro bowl...and THAT could prompt Garrett leaving...sighting "stress" and burnout.
