Any reason to believe Dak era will surpass Romo era?

yes they've done more the last 3 years which is Dak and Zeke era then Romo did in 10.. I luv Romo, wish he was still here, but your questions has to be answered yes..theyve turned this team nearly completely over and in 3 yrs are at least as good but given time could be better..theyve already reached the Romo era and the windows opening not closing on the NEW Team and players..3rd youngest team in the league and given Lee might be gone will be even younger..theyve just started haven't they, stop aligning Dak and Zeke with past coaches and teams players..
They certainly could be better. But it’s still yet to be seen if they surpass the Romo era finally breaking thru to a championship game.

So far this era is 0-2 in divisional round which is much like the previous era. Just saying...And why I asked.

That’s fine during the regular season beating average to below average teams but in the playoffs one dimensional teams are exposed.

A more prolific passing QB would greatly compliment our running attack.
Not buying it. More prolific passer is probably costly so they’d be hurt in other areas.

We had a great passing offense and an above average defense in the past and it didn’t get the team anywhere. Until they drop the salary cap I doubt this team will ever have a great offense and great defense.

That’s purely subjective.

I wasn’t a huge Romo fan either but at least he was top 10 most years.

I’d be fine with a 22nd ranked QB if we were winning championships.

This is a good and fair post.

It’s certainly off to a good start considering the division crowns, playoff appearances, and playoff win. We’ll just have to wait and see....

Yep. Throwing picks and calling them punts. I remember very well.

Context to clear up some of the myths that some think are facts, but hey, he wasn`t a top 10 QB, right.

From the time he took the starting reins in 2006 through his last full season in 2014, Romo was consistently one of the better quarterbacks in the NFL. During that period -- a golden age of quarterbacking -- Romo ranked third in yards per attempt, fifth in passing touchdowns, sixth in passer rating, sixth in completion percentage and seventh in passing yards (among qualified quarterbacks). He made four Pro Bowls and established himself as a consistently clutch performer. "Wait a second," the haters cry, "You're saying Tony Romo was ... clutch?!" Um, yes. From 2006 through 2014, he had the most fourth-quarter comebacks in the NFL (23) and tied for the most game-winning drives (28).

Still, people complain about the lack of overall team success in Dallas during the Romo era. Well, first of all, Romo ranked seventh in QB wins from 2006 through 2014, so let's not pretend he was chopped liver. But, more importantly, what kind of support did the quarterback have in Dallas? During that nine-year span, the Cowboys fielded just two top-10 rushing attacks. When it came to scoring defense, Dallas cracked the top 10 a grand total of one time. In fact, the Cowboys ranked 20th or worse in scoring D five times in that span.

Above average defenses wasn’t the norm in Romo era. As a matter of fact is was one of the worst in Cowboys history for several years.

Do you really believe Dak would have had more success in that era with those teams?

If this dysfunctional organization couldn’t build a good enough team around Romo why do we believe they will around Dak?
Because they have won the EASTERN Division 3 out of 5 years.

That is really decent in today's era.

I smile at you guys that always think the sky is falling.

Learn to celebrate success and breathe.

It's Ok.

There is a lot to improve.

But that has to play itself out.

Probably not more success but having guys like TO, Witten, Glenn, etc probably makes his passing look better. We saw what Cooper did and he’s not TO.

Just saying we need a new QB is weak is what I’m saying. I saw a great young QB in Luck look lost against a pathetic defense. Shouldn’t Luck be winning more since he’s so good? His team looked much better than the Cowboys team.

The comparisons here is Romo and Dak. Romo didn’t need an All Pro ol, league leading running back and top 10 defense to make playoffs.

Let’s see . I’d rather have a qb who needs all of this surrounding support or one who elevated those around him? Why are we so attached to Dak?
Romo had 3 probowlers on his Oline and all high draft picks but one

I’m just saying a more prolific QB would compliment our offense . Why so many are content with this one is unclear.

And Luck and the Colts ran up GInst a greater force in Mahommes.

Would you be interested in either of those two QB?

Dak has already accomplished more than Romo did in his first three seasons as the starter. Romo didn’t win his first playoff game until his 4th season as the starter. Not saying Dak is the long-term answer but he’s off to a better start than Romo.

Let’s see. First, Dak will not surpass Romo as a pure passer....very unlikely.

As far as surpassing Romo’s Success in the NFL.....duh. He’s been to the playoffs 2 of 3 years, is improving, has broken records. His Dallas success will far exceed Romo’s, which was almost nil.

Because Dak is a winner pure and simple

I would agree he appears to be a winner while not being a prolific passing QB.

We’ll see how far that takes him. The bigger point is how much better would our offense be if we did have a Mahommes type talent?

That’s not a bash on Dak just wanting something more. I wanted more with Romo too.

If the same hc remains , we will never see the big dance. 9 years is proof enough.

We shall see. And why I’m asking.
