I was opposed to Moore as QB coach, mainly because of his lack of QB’ing experience at the NFL level (parts of two games, both losses, where he looked like a deer in headlights). It was not so much technical mechanics, but what could Moore teach Dak about pocket awareness, avoiding a pass rush, etc, since he had very little NFL experience himself in such matters?

But as far as his X’s and O’s ability?

As a coach’s son, Moore’s been around the game his entire life and, as a QB, might know a lot more than we would initially give him credit for, at least when it comes to game-planning and play-calling. Keep in mind, he’s not likely to be asked to design a completely new offense from scratch; merely improve on the one we already have.

Lastly, Moore knows our offense, knows our personnel and Dak obviously believes in him.

Never thought I’d be saying this but, maybe Kellen Moore as OC isn’t as far fetched as it might initially appear.

To be clear, I am not a fan of Moore the QB coach, so you can imagine my position on Moore as OC.

Just for fun, however, if this was any other team, would this move be seen as an insightful - nay, brilliant - move by the FO to promote a young and upcoming offensive mind? From the outside, would this be seen as a radical approach to find the next "big thing" in coaching.

Now watch, someone will miss my opening statement, and blast me as a Moore fan boy - which i most definitely am not.

Honestly, I am more amused by this rumor than I am saddened. Seems to be part for the FO course.

Just read that Moore is front runner for OC job. Are you freaking kidding me. A few years ago he was fighting for #2 or 3 backup job. He is QB coach for a hot second and now a OC. He has dirty pictures of someone.

This move wouldnt be praised no matter what team did it, because Moore has done NOTHING to prove he is an upcoming offensive mind.

If that is true this organization is no better than, Cleveland, Buffalo or Detroit ... just pathetic. Jerry Jones is the worst owner in pro sports...
