Tony Romo has to be the best analyst since John Madden

People act like this is rocket science. Everyone runs the same plays. Has basically the same terminology. In todays league....the game moves so fast... you know where you are going w/ the fooball before the snap of the football...Or @ last you should. The fact he was calling out where the read was supposed to go...is not shocking. He played for 12 freaking years...and should know where the play was going.
Yet none of the other analysts can do it.

I think what Romo is saying is pretty common knowledge among football people who do it for a living, but the trick is he's able to present that info well on the fly too.

We've seen how savvy Jason Witten is on the field, but give him a hairpiece and a microphone and put him in the booth and he's useless.

Well first, I never said Romo sucks.

So how are you going to spin this post you made?

Yeah, he contributes good football knowledge but he annoys me. Everytime I hear his name I think of 2 playoff wins in ~10 years, ironically it makes me want to choke. Get it?

Somehow dozens of professional athletes across multiple sports are all singing Romo's praises but the Great biased Aria wants to choke when he hears from him? You're a joke :lmao2:

Than why are you upset about what I said. The guy isn’t right nearly as often as so many make him out to be. As I said, I’ve pointed it out in live threads and would be mkre than happy to do it again but certain people get upset because it destroys their god like image of Tony.
The only question I have for you is why you haven't been banned yet? Do you have something on Reality?

Or choose not to. We’ve never really had a color commentator make it his focus to predict each play going to be called. Usually they analyze the play that was called .

Romo sits in the booth like an OC. That’s not really what I want from an analyst or color guy.

That might be entertaining for some but the whole point has always been to discuss what happened not what you think is going to happen. Not on every single play anyway. Just not for me. And his squeaky boyish high pitch voice becomes annoying too.Too much of a cheerleader and rarely critical.

I’d say his calling for the game would be better served for a team in the booth or sidelines not the network.

His predicting of calls is not all he does. The fact you base your opinion on that is telling.

That’s most of what he does. His crackling voice just isn’t the typical radio or tv voice you hear. Comes off too much like a fan at his first game. Lol

It’s entertaining and informative at times but Troy just sounds like the more polished color commentator. Perhaps is just a personal preference.

And I wasn’t a huge Madden fan either. I always like Summerall and Brookshire better.

To each his own. You have the choice to listen or not. Have fun listening to the Super Bowl via radio.

I guess you struggle with the notion of someone listening or watching something they’re critical of? An announcer doesn’t ruin the game for me.

Fortunately Romo does CBS , so I don’t have to listen to him very often. He’s ok but I’d rather have Troy which we do for most of our games. And Moose also does a great job. I do like Jim Nantz. I kinda feel sorry for him though . Romo isn’t my style and neither was Madden.

By using my firm grasp on the English language? There is a Grand Canyon sized gap between what I said and Romo sucks.

To each his own. Madden was the best until Romo. The fact you can't see that is very, very, very telling.

It’s obvious watching him call the game, Romo”s morning dump has more football knowledge than JG.

Still pisses me off he got screwed by having to deal with a coach in training most of his career.
