Is there any way we can do better than Moore and Kitna?

I have been living with them. As a cowboys fan you live with the mediocrity that strolls thru this team as the years go.

Bro you clearly forgot who you used to live with!

Plus Dak sucks and kitna sucked as a player. Kitna will suck as a QB coach, and if dak became a coach he'd suck at that too.

That’s just a generalization. By that definition Witten is an idiot. And Romo and DWare. And Sean Payton and Eberflus and Richard. You can’t think it’s rational to blindly call anyone associated in any way with the team the last 20+ years an idiot.

The argument that Kitna sucked as a player is the most irrational comment at all. The entire history of coaching proves without so much as an iota of doubt that great success as a player is not required to be a good coach, and the funny thing you must not realize is, if Kitna became the QB coach, of all the QB coaches in the NFL he was the best player, hands down.

After watching these OC's in the playoffs, is there any freaking way we can do better than Moore and kitna and hold off on these idiots?

We should atleast do some serious homework on the staff of these 4 teams that have played today.

Really hoping jerry is putting more thought into this.
These are rumors at this point. Ask yourself this.....if Moore is the front runner for OC.....what are they waiting on?

Perhaps the more rational way to say it @SoupcanSam is "can we find someone more proven."

Maybe, but not much.

Certainly can't imagine you have final 4 OCs chomping at the proverbial bit to take an OC job in Dallas, given their current status.

But I'll defend Jerry on this much... I can't imagine there is an owner in the league who puts more thought into decisions like this. Our owner is the anti-Mike-Brown (Bengals)... he desperately wants to win as much as any of us do.

This is a joke right? If he wanted to win as much as any of us, why would he hire Garrett with little experience or why is he thinking of promoting the 1 year qb coach to OC? The answer is he doesn't want anyone from another organization to come in here and be the difference in getting to the super bowl because if that happens the that coach or OC will get the credit. If it's someone that he brought up then he would get the credit and that's a big part of the hiring process in Dallas.

@birdwells1 , you clearly have your axe to grind.

But, no, the one thing any fair minded person has to say about Jerry is... might not agree with his decisions, might even consider his decisions outright stupid at every turn... but no one can dispute the guy wants to win really, really bad. Is it about his ego? Sure it is. Same can be said for every one of us. He wants to brag that his team is a champion, and so do every one of us.

I have come to grips with an in-house promotion. The chances of brining in an outside OC with his own scheme and ideas is nil to none. I don't think we would see much of a change at all under Garrett.

So, it does make sense to roll with someone already familiar with this stale offense. The ball may finally be in Garretts court for game, set and match. This will be his do-or-die season.........I hope.

Now, if they do promote from within AND extend Garrett..........someone better fit me for a straight jacket :lmao:
We’ve been justifying every season as JGs do or die season.

I don’t see this as being a thing.
He will stay as long as he wants. He gets out of Coach Jones way and does what he is told without question.

I think everyone just needs to quit *****ing and sit back and watch this all unfold. The time to be upset will be when and if Garrett is extended. The hiring of Kitna and possible hiring of Moore look to me to be setting up an all or nothing year for Garrett which we all should be on board with. If next season is a disappointment, it will be an easy house cleaning of coaches on the offensive side of the ball. Let’s wait and see what kind of deal Moore signs and that may give us some confirmation on whether this is finally Garrett’s make or break year. However, if Garrett gets his extension and Moore is hired as OC, then by all means, flip out as much as you would like.

Why would Romo take an OC job under Garrett?? Wouldn't he rather be the HC since Garrett doesn't contribute much from an X's and O's perspective?
Jerry offers OC with a promise of HC after Garrett's tenure ends.

He wants to be known as a "football guy" and he wants to be the mind behind the Cowboys next super bowl win because everyone give the credit for the 3 to Jimmy and rightfully so.

If you take away all the things that he wants attached to winning a super bowl then we might win another one but he cant because he doesn't want it without them.

Well, he could be told Garrett is on thin ice and the job would be his when Garrett is finally canned. The whole Romo talk is premature. He will coach in the NFL and it will likely be in Dallas, but it will be a little while before it happens. I was down on Romo as a player for the last few years of his career but I now believe it will be Romo that will bring consistent winning back to the Cowboys and he will do it as an OC and then HC.

So tell us how you know so much about Moore and Kitna to call them idiots? I especially want to know what you have studied about their coaching abilities to call them idiots. Have you been living with them? Are you a coach with them? How do you know they are idiots?
Kitna I believe knows his stuff. He's played in numerous Offensives but is a totally different QB than what Dak is. Moore is most likely a Idiot and for certain garbage! What has he done for Dak? He will be a hollow OC because JG will be the real playcaller.

The last 2 years of the Rams offense are vastly different from the 3 years McVay was OC for the skinnies. Few people outside of real coaches and staff thought this young guy could do what he has done with the rams. There is no way of knowing if a young guy like Moore will succeed or fail untill you give them the reins so either give him a shot or they'll more than likely end up with another past his prime OC like linehan.

Weve had 18 offensive coaches leave under Garrett and NOT ONE has been promoted in the NFL. We don’t run an offense that’s viable so that’s we go from within

If he were forced to divorce himself from the Cowboys franchise tomorrow, in your opinion, he would cease to be a Cowboys fan then, given that he wouldn't be attached to any future success for the team.

Fwiw, I just think you've went overboard. That's not even barely conceivable from where I sit.
