Correct. Witten's last year he had 63 catches for 560 yards and 5 tds. To date all 4 of the current tight ends have 40 catches for 1 td and 406 yards. Extrapolating those numbers over 16 games would be 53 catches for 1.28 tds and 541 yards.

Are any of the current tight ends a "security blanket" for Dak? Nope.
Are any of the tight ends producing even a few tds? Nope.
Are any of the tight ends a leader on the field? Nope.
Everyone’s number were down last year. It’s hard to have big numbers with sak.

So? Dak was here last year as well as this year. What I'm commenting about is Witten being missed. The current crop of tight ends collectively don't even equal Witten by himself last year....

Witten was good for one or two 1st downs a game

Maybe the other guys could get a 1st down if given the chance:

How can you say that when he was thrown to 4 times a year? M Bennett looked terrible with us too. He immediately became good when he left. he was also one of the top 2 blocking TEs in the league.
It generally doesn't take long to figure out if a player can find the ball in the air on the deep stuff. That's why I was so mad when this craptastic staff weirdly tried to make Miles Austin a deep threat. Miles simply wasn't great at tracking and adjusting to over the shoulder stuff. Meanwhile, we were wasting the talent of one of the best YAC WR's ever seen in the NFL.

Hannah was terrible at tracking the ball. Just not good as a downfield threat.

If JG is mimicking Jimmy, he's doing a terrible job of it!!!!!!!!!

Hanna could track the ball just fine I watched him make big plays down field at OU I seen him burn a DB down the edge for a long TD. Cowboys just never used him and never ran the routes to take advantage of his speed. It was alway the old Witten route tree or even seen them use him on a screen.

This offense isn’t creative. Garrett is very very conservative.

Unfortunately, he’ll be here next year. Our only hope is a new o c with a up to date playbook that Gets receivers open easier.

Guys are open. QB can't get them the ball. This isn't something new, it's been happening all year.
Sometimes. However, I've seen a ton of footage offered as proof on here that shows open WR's who only got open after the ball was thrown so the defender left him.

The missed tds to Beasley , Gallup and cooper weren’t after the play. He missed Beasley on at least 2. He missed Gallup on at least 5.

Some of you guys are ignorant. Wittens last 5 years were pathetic. He shoulda got cut 5 years ago. The only 82 we miss was the player in his prime lmao.

Swaim Jarwin Schultz and Gathers suck also. We've had the worst te core for 5+ years. These tes played every passing snap and put up 1 TD in 15 games That's as pathetic as it gets. Anybody commending this te core doesn't know jack squat about football .

The cowboys have an everydown te scheme where the te/s don't ever come off the field. We had the Sorriest red zone offense, the Sorriest 3rd down conversion rate and the Sorriest scoring offense and these tes didn't do Jack squat but put up zeros every week.

Our biggest position of need is a receiving te. If you're commending these tes then you should be fired as fans because all of these tes should be cut because they cannot produce winning Stats.

Hanna caught 1 TD in his whole frican career. You guys need to get some glasses and read the zeros in the stat columns and compare these te production #'s to the top tes in the league.

They all need to be cut and don't even justify a gosh darn roster spot. Neither did 82 for the past 5 years.

Y'all always crying how great Hanna was and how he was never used but he started for 2 years and never caught more than 2 passes in a year .Some of y'all need to lay that crack pipe down if you think that any of these tes are worthy of a roster spot much less an everydown role .it's fans like you that's keeping these washed up tes in Superstar roles .Compare the nfl paper stats of our te core compared to the that of the other teams.

Combine stat comparisons is what you use when you're on crack or because your te has subpar NFL stats

When we get a top 5 receiving te that's when we can get complacent.

These tes are home Depot parking lot champions but not NFL worthy

WE're at home this weekend is because our starting te didn't morph into Kelce but he played every snap and put up zeros on paper.

Maybe the other guys could get a 1st down if given the chance:

Jarwin got opportunities early but he fumbled or batted the ball up and got picked off. Swaim started 15 games and got one td.

The slot wrs we're better on passing downs but they didn't get very many snaps so you know they're pissed off and not coming back. This coaching staff gave them peanuts for snaps so *** would they waste their time in a te led offense that's unfavorable for slot wrs

Now we're stuck w no slot wrs and the same scrub tes who can't produce. Our offense is gonna be worse next year.

These tes arent helping Daks numbers and they are playing every passing snap. We need to make a splash in free agency this year and go get a Scoriing te and slot wr because there is no way Jerrah and the puppet will
have these 2 positions fixed in 2019 through the draft.
If he signs one of these tes or extends the choker Linehan I'm boycotting football permanently. This every snap te led offense is pathetic to watch. And without Beasely and Austin it's only gonna get worse.

Y'all acting like we got Kelce and Dak can't get him the ball. Get a grip. And quit with the talk of 82 coming out of retirement because he hasn't done squat in 5+ years on critical downs either .

Outside of some Mickey mouse receptions a few first downs and 3-4tds against subpar division rivals a year he's just another scrub te also that can't make any significant plays either

He's a solid #2-3 TE with Jarwin. Both players improved over the course of season. Sounds like Stephen wants to draft a stud TE to add to the group.

But still Witten wasn't in his prime and couldn't change the outcome of games in 5+ years so yes we woulda been better as a te core with Witten but not by much.
Our season was off offensively because we couldn't stay on the field or score points. Witten could have contributed on picking up a few first downs per game but as far as making big big plays against teams outside our division and scoring and winning playoff games he couldn't elevate this team enough to make us much more potent enough to advance. Not playing all of the critical down passing plays . He woulda had to cut his passing snaps. And that's not the legacy he wanted to leave. That's what made him so good. Not his big plays and scores on critical passing downs

The tes we have now are no different. Take out their production against our familar subpar division rivals and these tes are batting Zero
