With Romo now showing the league just how great of a mind he has for the game, and everyone knew he never was the most physically talented guy... Do you think it pushes him over the edge for a HOF nod?

Can they take it into consideration (I genuinely don't know)?

Personally, I think he was a very physically talented guy, so I don't know where that's coming from. As for your HoF query, I don't think it would directly affect anyone's opinion, but the networking he likely does now might improve his popularity with the voters.

I was trying to say he didn't have all of the traits you'd expect from a top-tier QB, hence why he was an UDFA (and the small school factor). He just made it work with what he had. Put Romo's mind and work ethic with Jay Cutler's arm.

There is a broadcast division of the HOF, but to get to in as a player his broadcasting shouldn’t matter. Notice, I said “shouldn’t” and not “won’t”. Voters can cast ballots for whoever they choose, and if Tony makes a positive impression as a broadcaster for several years, that could influence voters.

He'd have to do it for a very long time, and then it'd be for sports broadcasting. I assume.

As a football player, the stars just didn't line up for him. I think in the perfect world where he would've still been physically healthy in 2016 and beyond, and was able to play another 4-5 years...then yes, he would've compiled huge numbers and very possibly would've led his team to a couple of deep playoff runs . (The overall teams around the QB these last 3 years have all been better than 2014, for example) Yes, that guy would've made the HOF.
But when he peaked as a QB (way better in later in his career) and the team got Zeke and was finally again building a defense, his body kept getting hurt. The guy only really started 8 full seasons.

Ring of Honor? For sure
Hall of Fame? Don't see it.

Bwahahahahahahaha...I bet you use a lot of chap stick. Romo was as fragile as a piece of glass, he made Sean Lee look like titanium. He was physically challenged and made several mental mistakes when it mattered most. At least when he’s wrong in the booth it doesn’t cost the Cowboys a W.

Agreed. I think he was exceptionally physically gifted.

If not for the multiple injuries that finally did him in then we may have made the SB by now. Romo was smart enough to audible the Linehan playcalls. And was getting better and better.

There's no broadcasting wing of the Football Hall of Fame, so he can't get in that way.

They do have the Pete Rozelle Radio-Television Award, given annually "for longtime exceptional contributions to radio and television in professional football". He could win that eventually.
