If the 10th round pick had only been here a few years and wasn't a key playmaker on this team and was about to break the bank and I felt we wouldn't take a hit too hard at the position, hell yes. I've considered multiple things before suggesting this.
Well, that 10th round pick was hardly around the team at all in his first few years. He was not a key player for the team in the first few years. He did not break the bank and we already had a Pro Bowl Caliber QB as a starter and the fifth overall pick in the NFL, on the roster, as a backup QB.
The 10th Round Pick was Roger Stauback in 1964. He didn't join the team till 1969 or so. The starter, at the time, was Dandy Don Meredith, who would enjoy All Pro years 66,67 and 68. The backup was Craig Morton, who was the 5th overall pick in 1965.
I would not make that trade for 10 1st round picks. Roger was arguably the best player in the history of the Franchise. You can't always base trades on draft status. Some trades are bad trades no matter what.
