What Happened to Cowboys Fans?

How would you describe Jerry’s intent on running football operations his style and personal agendas?

You don’t believe it’s selfish or foolish. I could think of or use other adjectives. Those are actually some of my kinder words. Lol
No, I wouldn't suggest Jones is selfish or foolish. Or whatever adjectives you have in your playbook. He's continued to bring in people to help. He's continued to make decisions by committee and he's given the fans and players one of the greatest places for football. Including high school players. How much did you contribute to AT&T stadium or the Star facility?
That's what I thought.

You believe Jerry’s intent of control delivers the greatest opportunity for success of Cowboys Football?

Those are your words, do yourself a favor and keep them out of mine.
This "World According To Greg" has run it's course.

I asked you to describe and apparently you believe Jerry is what’s best for Cowboys Football as you don’t offer any criticism except of my descriptions.

Being on the right side of history is always running its course.

I think a lot of it is fans telling each other how great the team is every hear when in reality they suck. Whether it’s coaching, over rating certain players or over looking other teams there are a lot of fans that are delusional. There’s a difference between optimism, homerism and reality.

I wouldn't put them in the suck category, but I do think fans and local media overrate the team and talent. And most fans are unrealistic in expectations - they're either overly optimistic or overly pessimistic.

I don’t remember our fans ever not being terrible, honestly. There are a lot of us, and the bar for fandom is not high. We’re entitled and sensitive and feel the need to apologize for an organization that’s been very competitive overall. I never understand how we make the lists of teams with “good fans.” I think our fans generally suck. I guess the fact that we have so many, though, counts for a lot. We do travel well, at least.
well that at least makes the fans on the same level as the head coach and front office and team they suck pretty much as well

The negative tend to be the most outspoken, so when you get a few of them shouting mindless drivel, the mob mentality takes effect, and others who normally wouldn't have that point of view are swayed to light their torches and grab their pitchforks.
I agree with this for the most part. The only thing I disagree with about the mob mentality part is that people who wouldn't have that view. I disagree with that part. People had that view but they weren't sure if it was right, ok, etc to say but when you see others out in the open with the same views as you it makes you more courageous than when you thought it was just you thinking that way. Little difference there but overall agree with your point.

Give it another 10 years of this and we might end up like Eagles fans.

We use to be one of the most intelligent fan bases in the NFL. Now we hang off of every word of the media's click bait that is purposely targeting our uniformed response.
No such thing. People of all teams are the same for the most part. It must be more fans getting on your nerves than before with views you don't like and as usual they're dumb you're smart. See that playbook all the time but that isn't a reflection of intelligence. The Internet having way more people than the og days has also given more people voices than your little "intelligent" circle you probably had before the Internet and definitely when messageboards were looked at a thing for weirdo loser types than the "cool" people.

See? There you go again, putting words in my mouth. You don't even get that you don't get it.

back in the good old days of landry and schramm, I thought the two most arrogant individuals in the universe were the aforementioned. but they produced victories which cures most ills. I sided with Staubach when he presented his side of why he wanted to call his own plays, saying he saw things on the field of play that landry couldn't standing on the sidelines. I became more of critical of landry and his flex defense after don Coryell and the st. louis cardinals figured it out and how to beat it. but landry's answer was always that if the players executed as they should, it was just fine. (it wasn't). the criticism's always been there. it's just that there are far more venues to express it in today's world.

Problem is, they don't, though. They're good, just not good enough. If our fans were to rise to the level of 'good,' or even to 'not terrible,' we'd probably have nothing to talk about around here because everybody would just be reasonable.

this seems to me to be a most succinct description of "mob mentality".

Nothing happened to any fans, least of all Cowboys fans. It's not "click bait" media as much as it is just the greater ease of access and delivery of information from social media to other outlets.

As the delivery of the game changes, so to will the reception to it. That's just the way things work. If anything, much like people, fans have gotten more entitled and whiney towards their teams and other fans.

You're right. I shouldn't have said they wouldn't have had that point of view, more that they wouldn't have acted on it otherwise.

good is where the majority of nfl teams live there are only three or four that are good enough usually
