I respect Rodger Staubach but the quote "Dak's going to continue to be a great quarterback"... falls incomplete. Dak has some great intangibles which I hope will make him a good or very good quarterback, but sometimes we are a bit too free with the word great, even 2 time Super Bowl winners:)
Roger is a motivator and always presents a positive vibe.
This is the guy who said, more than once, that Romo was a much better QB than he ever was.
I don't think hardly any of us believe that, but it doesn't make me think less of Roger.

As was Belichick....who installed the Cowboy Fan Football IQ filter---he dismissed any Cowboy fan as not knowing football if they didn't think Romo was outstanding. Called it his Cowboy fan filter.
:muttley:
He said he would not talk football with them once he found out they were down on Romo….because it proved to him they weren't worth discussing football with.

Even now, he talks about how his one on one media meetings are at such a higher level when Rom is doing the game.

Roger Staubach: "I'm a little disappointed at the people that don't see the whole Dak..."

Tsk, tsk, tsk. Roger Roger Roger. Prescott's critics are disappointed with you now. Certainly. You played some games. Competed and won Super Bowls. Became a legend in your own time. Would have beaten Clint Longley half to death if he had not run off like a girl but when all's said and done, what do you, mister so-called Captain America (while totally deserved that is such a pretentious name sir  ) REALLY know about evaluating quarterbacks, Roger? Seriously, WHAT DO YOU KNOW????????

Such gall! The impudence of a Pro Football Hall of Fame quarterback remotely thinking he knows what it takes to play in the National Football League. Get over yourself Roger.
did you attend the mickey Spagnola school of sports reporting? :)

And wait a second here. Did Roger just say Dak's got accuracy issues? Has he not seen the "stats" and the dink and dunk completion percentages that the Dak fans slobber over?

LOL. Coy himself told you that you completely missed the point and yet you are so clueless that you went and cut and pasted your own stupidity for all to see. Again it had nothing to do with what anyone was talking about (whether Staubach said Romo was a good QB). I’m not sure why you are acting so defensive as if anyone is shocked that you’re a troll and you have to defend yourself.
A troll? lol. Is that all you've got? Truth hurt much? Keep loving the stats-building choker. That's all he was. Dak is the opposite. A bonafied gamer, just like Staubach was, hence why Staubach is saying Dak is going to be great and literally calling you Dak haters out.

He’s never said anything like this about romo.

Ya. Never...

"If there's a bigger Romo fan in town, I don't know who it is," said Staubach, one of many former Cowboys who attended the team's open practice at AT&T Stadium and private dinner. "I want to argue with all my negative Romo fans and let them know and tell them how great this guy is."

"Last year, if you looked at the Super Bowl, those guys had running backs over 1,000 yards," Staubach said. "[Romo] doesn't complain. He doesn't blame it on anybody, but he needs some help up front at times. The running game has got to be better than [31st] in the league, but Tony just does his job. He makes plays. He's got a strong arm, and he just does a lot of good things out there [that] only a few quarterbacks in the league can do."

"It's a team effort, too. I can't take credit for those great teams that I had. It was because I had a running game, I had a good offensive line, I had a lot of good things working for me. But you've got to be good yourself. Tony is a franchise quarterback."

My problems with Dak.

1: We’ve won nothing when he’s been on a rookie deal.

2: Others make Dak better so giving him a big contract will make us a worse team.

3: He and Garrett together will just bring mediocrity to our offense. We have to have an all time Oline and run game to make everything click with these 2.

The easy switch is a different coach but we’re hanging onto Garrett another season.

Dak should be paid what he's worth, and that's as an average quarterback, not an elite one. He shows way potential to become elite, but he's not elite as it now stands. Hence, she should be paid as average

only dak is relevant to the discussions. the other qb's were the past. comparisons to athletes of prior generations is nothing but opinion. was ali better than joe louis or rocky Marciano? just the stuff of opinions. let's see how dak does with a new oc. I think he'll be better. jmo

Yes, Dak is a "gamer" now. I've heard it all.

During the regular season, when confronting with Dak's middling stats I was assured Dak was a winner with a magical it factor and he wasn't about stats. You would think I would be turning on my TV this weekend and seeing Dak on the screen.

So Dak is not a stat QB, and he's not a winner either since he's never won anything of note. It will be interesting to see what new category Dak slobberers come up with to keep the mediocrity train going. Gamer, it is.
