What was the worst coaching move by Garrett in the 2018-2019 season?

He said otherwise last year too when they were talking about the changes to the offense that ended with us having to trade our #1 pick for a WR because they couldn't scheme anyone open like they thought they could.

I'll just keep yawning until I actually see something.

He said it had nothing to do with scheming anyone open. But that he didn't feel comfortable with, the different wrs and the rotation.

David Helman (@HelmanDC) tweeted at 11:24 AM on Thu, Jan 31, 2019:
Amari Cooper was obviously a big part of Dak Prescott’s second half surge. But Dak also just said on @1053thefan that he also felt far more comfortable after the Cowboys tightened their WR rotation. #cowboyswire https://t.co/5MXSNM2g9h

Chalking up Garretts horror show of mistakes to "every HC makes mistakes" is just foolish. And he makes the same dumb mistakes over and over again. YOU would be a better HC then Garrett.

And its called venting.

So what do you come on here for? To wave your pompoms?

LOL...…..and NO CHANCE was Garrett better then Wade. Wade was at least a football guy and was a great DC. Garrett was a horror show as a OC, HC, calling plays, ect...ect…

That is your opinion but Phillips did say it himself and I don't just think I KNOW he knows what he's talking about when it come to himself a heck of a lot more than you do. OK the same people have to vent their hatred every day, after day after day after day after day after day and it's the same vent day after day after day after day after day after day.

If you're content with mediocrity then Garrett is unassailable, obviously. That's the crux of the argument and why it will never go anywhere until Garrett either wins a Super Bowl or is fired.

Until one or the other happens this will just go in circles like most internet sports arguments.

I will say this: you'd have to use the Large Hadron Collider to find something smaller than Jason Garrett's coaching tree.

Some do. For me personally, its new venting. I actually hadn't hammered Garrett in a while until this pathetic firing of linehan and hiring of Moore fiasco. Even if it works out, the way it was handled was pure dysfunction. No way could you possibly be impressed with either Jones or Garrett in this whole mess.

As far as Wade, what did he say EXACTLY? I recall something. Wade is a better football guy , no doubt. I would give Garrett the nod on dealing with Jerry and players liking him.

Your hatred is coming out loud and clear. How is it that like every team sits down and does a end of season with all of the coaches and Garrett and Linehan MUTUALLY agreed that it was best if he left was such a fiasco? And why was it such a fiasco if Jones initially wanted to wait until after the Super Bowl to announce Moore's promotion to OC but since the media already guessed it so Jones finally announced it. Is it because Garrett and Jones didn't consult with you first?

I'll let you read it for yourself.

Garrett first came out and said there would be no major coaching changes and Linehan would be staying. He then got slapped by Jones. The next day Garrett said he forgot what he said about Linehan. So right there Garrett is already branded a guy that either is a useless puppet or really wanted Linehan to stay. The Jones comes out and says he hasn't decided what to do thus neutering Garrett even more.

Then they all come out say that Linehan is gone two days later? Talk about dysfunction. Rumors come out about Moore. But Jones comes out publicly and says "why should I make a decision now when there are great opportunities with coaches still left of the 4 remaining teams. Then THIS week comes around and Jones says he isn't going to make any decisions or announcements as not to stand up the SB.

Then the moron comes out 2 days later, BEFORE the SB and tells everyone that Moore is their guy.

Total and complete bafoonery.

Now as far as Garrett, yah you better believe it. I absolutely 100% hate Garrett. Worst HC I have EVER seen. Bar none.

Garrett's best coaching job ever was the 2nd half of the season because he STOPPED being clappy-conservative-clown Garrett for a bit...Then when he got to the playoffs, he implemented his "system" again. Lucky to get by Seattle then the Rams exposed him like normally happens in a big game. He is not a coach I'd ever want leading/preparing a team for anything of value.

Agreed. The final 8 games were his best coaching EVER. But he always reverts back and panics in the biggest moments. At some point during the playoffs you are going to get exposed by the best teams and best coaches.

4th and 1 against Houston. Not going for it was the wrong decision, full stop. He learned from it though and got more aggressive, but that was the single worst coaching move all season.
This was his worse move

I didn't say that. Nobody enjoys the draft more then me. I'm talking about from a pure entertainment standpoint.

The draft is not as exciting without the first round pick.

The Cowboys skipping Free Agency is not because of their cap. It's their philosophy.

It was an opinion that building the team through the draft was the best way but we've seen the elite teams go out and sign big free agents and we've also seen teams like the Rams, Eagles, and Bronco's get themselves over the hump like we are currently in by supplementing their roster through free agency with the top tier FA's.

Watching Jerry and his family go on vacation when Free Agency starts is just a slap in the face to the fan base.

The Rams are playing in a few days because they decided to sign players and not go on vacation.
We have Tank, Zeke, Dak, Cooper, Jones and Cole to sign

I call you a troll because you mindlessly post absent any concern for (or capability of?) logic or reason. If you have anything actually substantive to say about Garrett, please do so, and I will be happy to discuss, but if all you can do is post mindless nonsense, don't bother. Seems the best you have been able to pull out the last few posts is just repeating what you heard from me.

The funny thing is, you are too busy posting mindlessly to know I favor changing head coaches, and have posted that many times on this site, and was saying the same a year ago. But your response was just a mindless comment made without bothering to understand. Or without the capablilty. Again, when you learn to comprehend the written word, please come back and try again.

Looky here. Another childish name calling post by Omer. What a surprise.

And your hatred has severely colored your vision on what happened. Garrett after the Cowboys season was over did say at this time I don't see any coaching changes BUT we will REVIEW everything. Then DURING the end of season interviews Garrett and all head coaches have with their coaching staff Garrett and Linehan MUTUALLY agreed it was time for Linehan to move on.. As far as what Jones said, you must be a rookie fan because ALL teams, especially around draft time but not just then do what is commonly referred to as sportsmanship or more commonly known as lying about what their team's true intentions are. They do this so the other 31 teams don't know for sure what their true intentions are. When the Cowboys hired Kitna to be QB coach and Moore wasn't let go the media started saying the Cowboys were going to promote Moore to OC. Jones had planned to make the announcement after the Super Bowl but because the media just keep talking about it he decided to announce it so the media would go back to the Super Bowl where he thought the media should be focused on. But with your hatred you just don't see thing the way they really are, you just see what fits your hatred. Yes I think Garrett has made some mistakes, but guess what, ALL COACHES make mistakes.

Ugh...it's just time to move on from this guy. We can rehash all his "issues" forever. The sad thing is, Jerry is now just keeping him around because he's "experienced". What kind of crap is THAT?! After 10 years of sucking (i.e., learning on the job)..... Thanks for a decade of life wasted Jerry!

You think they'd admit their schemes stink and don't help people get open?

Man, you just cannot believe everything you hear.

Whatever it was, it wasn't as bad as the Saints throwing a pass on 1st down with 1:58 to go against the Rams.

There is nothing to talk about.

There is no draft to look forward to because Oakland has our pick.

The offense is most likely going to be the same if they name Kellen Moore the OC.

We basically skip Free Agency.

Everyone besides Jerry and some homers have identified the problem with our coach and that is what fans want to talk about because there is just nothing else right now. 10+ years with Garrett has brought a lot of frustration to the fan base because people are tired of the same old offseason and results from this coach.
Maybe fans too easily forget the Dave Campo and Chan Gailey years!

Assuming all our moves were on his idea (which of course they weren't), what would you say was the worst decision he made this past season? It could be personnel related, a particular play called, situational decision, etc.
Keeping Moore as QB coach.
Dak lacks accuracy. Kellen Moore failed miserably.
