Belichick has an off the chart football IQ. He likes certain players that fit is style of football (smart, big, selfless, mentally and physically tough, team player, winner) and can whip up a different scheme for every opponent on the schedule that his players can bring to the game.

The team always has a unified message and you rarely hear any trash talk from a Patriots player. Doesn't hang on to many draft picks who become stars. Very cap savvy and understands the value of balance throughout the roster. A truly amazing figure who has accomplished something that I don't expect to see duplicated in my lifetime.

I’d agree he appears to have slipped but with the game on the line he still came thru. Not sure why we want to discount that aspect?

Can't disagree with you. It has been a QB driven league for quite some time. But it's not Brady who makes the team win with a roster full of no-names. Belichick doesn't win 6 rings without Brady, but Brady may not even be playing without Belichick.

he was also on the Giants staff that won Super Bowls with Phil Simms and Jeff Hostetler, no doubt Brady is great but I have all the confidence in the world that if Belichick continues to coach after Brady departs, he'll win another with a different QB
