You just don’t like him, so any slight misstep by him just gives you an easy excuse to come here and b.... about it
Not true, I liked him a lot better before he started talking. I don't like any player talking money in the media, never have and never will.

I watched him in college and was very aware of his family situation and how he'd gotten the QB1 jobs and he was one of the toughest QB's I had ever seen play and a terrific leader. However, as a passer I saw the weakness in his game and why he hadn't been able to beat out a healthy QB. He was inconsistent and he still is, he misses NFL QB 101 throws too much.

And this will be the slow death of the cowboys if we pay Dak what he thinks he's worth. You're an above average quarterback at best that relies heavily on the key players around you. Teams loaded the box to stop Zeke and you put up average numbers(in todays game) while the defense carried the offence for nearly 2/3rds the season.

Do you show signs of brilliance? From time to time but not enough to warrant elite quarterback pay

That post is a joke. How does the QB of the Dallas Cowboys going into a contract negotiation "not get into the discussion"? If Dak hid in a cave in Kazakhstan the media would still find him and shove a microphone in his face.
Did Aikman or Romo get into a discussion when theirs was in negotiation? Or did they deflect it and dismiss it sending the message that's not a topic for discussion?

This absurd idea that someone has to give an answer because they're asked by the media is lunacy. Hell, if I were a player being asked something that they know is not getting answered, I would refer them to my agent spokesperson, Marshawn Lynch.

Nice that he insults the GOAT with saying he's not the breadwinner in his own home, I am sure he likes hearing that from this mid level QB. I am sure he will remember that when the Cowboys go to NE. He should do a spin on Herman Boone in "Remember the Titans" and have a loaf of bread to toss to Prescott after the game.

Negotiations are about leverage. As we’ve seen with the recent high profile negotiations, if you don’t have any leverage the other side doesn’t have to budge. Though I believe that was a phony show of one side pretending they were fighting for something even though they knew it was no chance of an agreement, and both sides were fine with that because it was all a show for the public.. Pro Wrestling if you will

Digress: Dak and his agents need to be cognizant of Dak’s value outside of Dallas. Don’t piss away money no other team would offer you. #treadlightly

It's clear from the article that he's gunning for the big money. I guess that I shouldn't be surprised, but I am.

From the article:

Prescott doesn’t see Patriots quarterback Tom Brady’s team-friendly deal, for which he made just $15 million last season, as a blueprint for his own.

Nobody’s wife makes as much money as his wife does either,” Prescott said of Brady’s supermodel wife Gisele Bundchen, who earned $10 million in 2018 and $17.5 million in 2017, per reports. “When Tom Brady isn’t the breadwinner in the home, then that’s a great problem to have."

So in that case, he can do that. He can do his contract however you want to do it.”

I think the team knows how to pay what’s deserved,” Prescott told USA TODAY Sports before the Super Bowl, “and pay those other people at the same time what’s deserved without being frugal.

Fair enough but we subtract 1.5 million every time he misses a wide open Gallup/Cooper who is streaking down the field. He'll be owing us money at the end of the season...

I don't blame him except for openly talking about it. The NFL is throwing stupid money at some QB's, why shouldn't he cash in on that?

They gave the same boilerplate answers that Dak just did. And the fact you take the comments on Brady seriously is proof you are a hater.

If I was on a team that has the ability to make the playoffs and win the superbowl I would be happy taking less money like Brady to bring in key pieces. You will make more in the long run with endorsements if you win a superbowl and etc. But hey thats just me, can't fault no man for trying to make bank.

Sure, but you wouldn't say it publicly before negotiations actually started. Every player that ever drove a hard bargain said publicly that they deserved to get the highest salary at their position, why they were great, etc. Dak can point to stats, win totals, Pro Bowls, etc.

He didn't do that, he said the two sides would get a fair deal done. That's what a guy says when he wants to get a reasonable deal, not a guy that is holding out for more than he is worth.

this is just ridiculous, TB takes a discount because his wife makes$$$, BS. What should happen is simply let Dak play out his rookie deal (he just got a nice raise) then franchise him the year after then make a informed decision. If Jerry extends Dak he has lost his marbles. Dak should learn to keep his mouth shut about other peoples business and spend his time trying to improve not flap his jaws looking for the $$$

I can also send you a bottle of my piss. It is in demand actually.
You got that idea from guzzling Dak’s down, didn’t you?

Poor guy. Was it Dak being 6th in passer rating since the Cooper trade? Was it Dak being one of the most clutch QBs in football? Or was it the 2nd division title in 3 years?

I hope you didn’t catch anything. Dak gets around.

Based on the team around him and what he's asked to do, do we really think giving him a mega contract is better than just working with fresh draft picks or backups and repeating the process of cheap QB contracts to afford support? Unless he was pulling a Mahomes, and he never will, it would be different. I just don't think if there is a dropoff it would be enough to put us out of playoff success.
