They got two Super Bowls appearances and one win. They still have a decent defense, it's about getting a QB. It's not like they won a Super Bowl with a great QB anyways - Manning was pretty much a corpse when they won.

Not sure Elway believes Flacco is elite, however, I can certainly believe Flacco can play better than Manning did in 2015. That's for dang sure. Actually, it shouldn't be that difficult.

And certainly better than Keenum last year. If it's for the pick they got for Thomas last year? I think it's brilliant.

Twitter-verse is all abuzz in Bronco land about the trade and the initial reaction is not favorable. One fan went so far as evoke the dreaded Al Davis and, get this, Jerry Jones comparisons with John Elway (as far as inept GM maneuvers are concerned). Generally, most Bronco fans acknowledged that Keenum was probably not the "answer", but was more than serviceable until such time as they could draft a replacement.

Seems a bit odd to be this upset about this before seeing what the Broncos will be giving up. While Flacco was never a top 10 QB in this league, he certainly elevates his play come playoff time. This has more upside to it than the Keenum signing.

I think most fans would rather lose and get a high pick then be mediocre with these mediocre types of QBs.

Playing football with high draft picks is at the very least entertaining. Playing with Case Keenum and Joe Flacco isn’t.

If they traded him for Case Keenum, both teams will have upgraded their starting QBs.

The comments from a few of my local friends suggest that, considering what a bust Lynch has been, the signing of veteran QB's in successive years is seen as a FO gaff.

And watch Dallas promptly go 6-10. Who is playing QB under that scenario?

Dak haters are funny

If we are going to go 6-10 we might as well fold and go 0-16 and get the best QB in the draft the following year. Dak is nothing but a bus driver
and any old bus driver will do. Don't hate him at all...he's just not that good and you sir are just expecting more of the same ole for the next decade.

Denver won a Super Bowl with Peyton Manning’s corpse. Is what’s left of Flacco better than what Manning was able to offer his last year?

This.

Between Lindsay at running back and their young receiving corps, it's all about the defense for the Broncos. If the defense is anywhere close to what it was during those Super Bowls? They're in better shape at quarterback than Manning at the end and Osweiller - ever.

Elway is desperate and usually good things don't happen when you overreach like that. I feel Denver is still gonna draft a QB high.Flacco may not be penciled in as the starter like we may think.

If Denver still has a defense they will make the playoffs...

Although he has one more SB win in the past 20 years than our clownshow

Some insult to injury, actually, he has three. Two as a player in 1997 and 98 and then one as an executive. So he not only played and got two, but then retired, became a GM, and still has more than Jerry Jones in that time...
