That depends on what you categorize as "very good".
Certainly not a "very good" return on investment.
If you think Crawford's ROI was bad just wait until you see what you get from Tank for $100 million.
stop trying to compare dak to old qbs.
That has nothing to do with the fact that the top quarterback salaries go up continuously. As the old saying goes, "a rising tide lifts all boats". As the top salaries rise, it pulls other "lesser" quarterback salaries up, too. Not to the levels of the "top" players, but certainly more every year. And Garrapolo signed a $27.5 mil average contract after only playing 23 games, he's hardly one of the "old qbs'.
You are missing my point - the question the Cowboys have to answer is do we sign him now in the hopes he will get better and thereby avoid the higher salaries later, or hold off and hope they can sign him for the same amount he's wanting now. Nothing to do with whether he's "worth" it or not, just noting the Cowboys have a tough decision to make...
Your point means nothing. Because Jerry Jones has already said they know he;s worth it. He's their QB. Just as Romo was his QB. BUt i also saw how they handled Romo and the team structured his deals where they were always able to reduce his money in any yr to be able to regain capspace. But still give Romo his money. Romo was never in the Top yearly caphits in hi career. That has nothing to do with the fact that the top quarterback salaries go up continuously. It's amazing what those guys get compared to baseball and basketball players, tbh.Not on a football team
It’s amazing what players of today get compared to just a decade ago
Already far more than the $50 million wasted on Crawford.
Time to cut Crawford loseAlready far more than the $50 million wasted on Crawford.
I don't care what they spend/do. Just get us to the Superbowl. And win it! Tie with the PATS & Squealers. We need a new Lombardi to make the Egals hate us even more.
6mn for a flex DE / DT who gets the job done solidly? Not really looking to cut Crawford right now. Plus his cost goes down next year (last year of contract), and probable he can go a few more years on a cheaper deal... plus the cap keeps rising 10mn each year. 6mn against the current cap is not what it was just a few years ago (189mn projected for this year - vs 120mn in 2011).... a 57.5% increase. That depends on what you categorize as "very good".

Yes it does. If you can't or won't understand it, I can't help you. Not necessarily disagreeing with you about what Jerry "knows" he has, etc. but that has nothing to do with the fact that qb salaries have, and continue to, and probably will continue to go up, both the top salaries, the average and lower salaries. That's all.
You're adding things to my post that I'm not talking about...
Your statement was a more generalized or broad term used in describing the fair market value of todays economy starting NFL QB contract
Hey you got it!
WTG!
Ugh, so true. We the fans are literally worn out with the same results for 23 years and counting. Something has to give. Dallas has such a talented team. Sad.Dallas needs to win it all, and not next year now.
Call it faith, either way I'm willing to see where he takes usOnly FOOLS think that a guy like Mark Sanchez (who was carried by an elite defense to two AFC Championship games) is better than a guy like Phillip Rivers..
Dak has had the best Cowboys teams in recent memory and it still wasn't enough. What makes you think that if a guy like Rodgers or Luck can't take mediocre rosters to a Super Bowl Dak will be able to do So?
It's pure madness!
