Witten was one of the higher rated run blockers his last season, and he’s always been known as a much better blocker than the other all time great TEs.

And his SINGLE false start in 2017. In week 2 when the team rolled over for Denver.

The point of this thread was to point out Witten is not signed to be a high impact guy, but rather to be a role player. It looks like they are going to give Jarwin, and to a lesser degree Schultz a chance to make a difference.

Some people just piss and moan about every move the FO makes, so then if they turn out to be right about one or two, they can let the "I told you so's" fly.

I thought the same at first, but then this occurred to me:

What if this doesn't mean they don't draft a TE at #58? What if this makes it even more likely? What if they decide to draft a young guy and give him a year to learn at the feet of the Master?

It's not what I would do, but it might be what they end up thinking?
