and we could easily find another guy with poise to stick to the safe checkdowns and outside throws as long as we have a solid foundation around him? We're going from peanuts to breaking the bank on the same qb performance, is it worth it over another younger QB that maybe is a more natural QB? Or are we good with half qb/half rb playing the position?

Seriously doubt this.

20 million he is worth , 25 million if we consistently make the playoffs .

Its sad to know that we don't make the playoff because of Jason Garrett and not Dak , but thats how it goes...

Salary should be tied to post season results .

A big extension for Dak scares the crap out of me, but if the FO does insist I hope they at least keep it reasonable. I wouldn’t want to guarantee him any $ beyond 3 years to be able get out of the deal if necessary.

5 years $120M with $60M guaranteed

2019- $15M
2020- $20M
2021- $25M
That’s the $60 guaranteed.
After that it’s 2 years @$30M each that are essentially option years for the Cowboys.
Yes this looks good

I find it humorous that you hate your team's QB so much that you selectively include and exclude stats to paint a picture you want to see.

Go take your butt to the Eagles' board and root for Wentz.[/QUOTE
I find it humorous that you choose to omit those stats for guy you want to pay 25 mil a year.:thumbup:facts don't care about your feelings.

This thread isn’t an anti or pro Daks ability thread. It’s just a fact thread. Dakota Rayne Prescott will 100% be paid at or around market value, or 30M. Except a deal anywhere from 27-32M dollars. The man fired his old agent for a guy who’s claim to fame is getting players every cent, Jerry and Stephen have both overtly stated multiple times that he will be paid market value, and Dak himself has said he’s going to get paid what he deserves and won’t take any discounts.

How does this logically add up to the amounts y’all have been throwing out? I see people on this chat go anywhere from 18-23M and they should be evaluated for mental health issues.

What logical evidence have you seen that tells you the team won’t pay this man 28+?

Stop believing what you want to happen and actually use some critical thinking skills to see what will happen. Reality is going to hit some of you like a truck and you’re gonna be blowing up this forum with “We overpayed Dak” threads. Just accept it now and make it easier on yourselves, sheesh.

Btw I have no issue paying him whatever as long as we can retain our All-Pros/Pro-Bowlers and have the freedom to breathe enough to sign someone from outside from time to time.
Jerry to Dak's agent;
Dak is great, wouldn't take 2 first rounders for him
If I had the first overall I would pick Dak
Dak is going to be the Dallas Cowboys QB for a long time
Dak will get paid
Yes these type statements put Jerry in the drivers seat when negotiating. Sad fact is you are right it is just a matter of how bad Jerry will over pay. Dak is a average QB at best but Jerry will pay him like the best QB in the NFL because Jerry knows football and he is always right about talent. To make up for for Dak's $$$ I am sure he can find some bone head druggies and women beaters to fill the roster cheap so nothing to worry about, Jerry leadership and decision making the last 23 years is a thing of legend.

Don't sweat it. Lots of these Dak haters are Romo lovers and Eagles trolls. I hope they leave the board when Dak gets that fat extension. Can't wait!!!!

Well let’s see.
21 QBs make over 15 mil this coming season before any new deals/extensions.
16 of those are 20+.

Flacco 22.
Smith 23.5
Carr 25
Stafford 27
Garroppolo 27.5
Cousins 28

I’d take dak over any of those guys.

Last year is probably your worst year to argue he’s average. Before Amari the man was throwing to Deonte Thompson. This is the NFL not the NBA, you need some talent around you to succeed. Every QB does.

If you extrapolate his stats over 16 games he’s a top 10 guy.
You must have slept through 17 and he threw more to just Thompson.

Look, yes you need some talent to throw the ball to but, what and who does Brady have??? Good QB's throw WR's open and find the seams to hit the target.
Dak is marginal because his accuracy and mechanics are severely lacking at this point. Will Dak ever be in the class of Brady or Brees? doubt it!
