Clowney is franchised too. Try again.
Seriously? Who thinks that’s a good idea?
Two timelines I'm watching, March 12 before the start free agency and week before the draft. If there's no long term deal by then, I certainly think he could be traded. FYI.....read a tweet that Jets and Colts have over $100M in cap space.
Its a low 1. I don't think it is worth it.
its more than garrett issue, so you trying to inject a garrett hatred comment in a Tank discussion makes you look silly.First off stop talking about championships while Garrett is still the head coach. It just makes you look silly. Seconds, yes Tank is the best pass rusher we have but that doesn’t justify paying him more than he is worth or has earned. Who needs similar production from a mid 20s pick when they come at 1/5 of the costs? Tanks production didn’t win us anything last year. I’d take a 1st round DE, and 3rd round RB, and ET all day every day over Tank and his inconsistent dominance.
If the Cowboys trade Lawrence it better be a middle of the first to a top of the round pick plus a 3rd or a 2nd if its a middle of the round pick.Seriously? Who thinks that’s a good idea?
wait, you paid a second, but are getting a first round production. who are you going to get with a second round pick? why is everyone p!ssed off because the guy is asking for money for production at a top 5or top 7 DE in the league? we keep talking about getting a war daddy, we got one..... and now, the guy is asking to be paid and we all want to go gambling on a 2nd round pick, wait for him to mature for a few years and go on *****ing about garret and whomever is the next coach.....we drafted Tank. he turned out to be a good player. we have good core of players and a window of 3-4 years to make a run....you over pay...by how much? a couple of mill a year and in 2 years he will be at market average....that's how it works....I am all for trading him.
I would actually take a 2nd Rd pick and get back what we paid for him.
I would also call Gruden in Oakland and see if we could get back our #1 we traded for Cooper.
Why not?
We would have to be crazy to pay Tank $20 mil even on the Franchise Tag.
He is not that quality of player.
We finally have an elite defensive end.
And now everyone says he’s not worth paying.
what if they got TJ Watt? and EThomas and NSuh? .........all for injured DLawrenceIt’s like trading Lawrence for a chance at Taco Charlton and being excited about all the money you’d save.
what if they got TJ Watt? and EThomas and NSuh? .........all for injured DLawrence
What about the Detroit game? It's not like he's played in 20 playoff games - edge players need opportunity to make plays, and there were none against the Rams. He hasn't had bad years...Fine, but you want to commit that money yearly knowing he has been inconsistent and has back issues? We’re talking 12-13% of the total cap on one player who we know has had bad years and who you point to one game to make your case. Sorry, I want more proof and consistency before making the type of commitment he is asking for. Monster against the Seahawks, great! Where was he against the Rams?
Of course they are.that's the problem dallas emagines theyare a super bowl contender
Yep, you could still go out & get a DE in free agency (that fits your budget better). The DE might be a downgrade from Tank but if the sum of the additions is greater than the loss of Tank, its winner, winner, chicken dinner.I love Tank, I live in Boise where he played college, and I hope we re-sign him. That being said, I would take a 1 and a 3 in a heartbeat. Yes, D Law is one of the top 5 edge rushers in the league. But this is a different NFL. Edge rush is not the be all and end all of pressure. In fact, in today's NFL, interior pressure seems more important. And if D Law is insisting on more than $20m per year (my assumption), I would rather use a #1 pick on a DL that I will have for cheap for 5 years and use the $20m on other free agents.
Late 1st round picks gets you guys like Taco, you might hit on one and get a quality player but chances are you’re not going to get someone like Lawrence. Bad idea
I’m not going to answer everybody individually, but all y’all are smoking crack.
So...we are not giving Tank the 23 million that he wants but we are giving ET the 15 million that he wants. That would bring ET to Dallas as well.
