As an aside, I am really surprised and disappointed that Rod Marinelli is sticking around yet another year. I didn't see that coming if Richard stayed with the Cowboys. I thought for sure that would force Marinelli out. Which needs to happen for this team to take the next step defensively. Get his voice out of the personnel meetings.

I do kind of follow you on this one Risen, but all things considered, Rod has done a pretty damn good job with what he has been handed over the few seasons, last not included as they had a top 5 D and got blown out in LA playoff game. That being said, I'll lay money that Richard takes over a lot more of running this defense with Rod in the co pilots seat....

I don't want to start a thread for every player released but the Jaguars are also releasing Carlos Hyde.

I would not be surprised if he ends up as Zeke's backup. Reunite the Ohio St. boys.

Edit - I didn't see Alexander's post because I have him on ignore.
You cant ignore yourself :)

Yup....that Rams playoff loss is all on him....and you can't convince me other wise. That was the worst defensive game plan I've ever seen....and when it was apparent we were getting gashed in the run game....we did nothing to adjust.

Rams scouted the crap out of us and we had no answers.

Really poor performance all around from the defensive staff that game.

In 2013 the Eagles were 3-5 when Foles took over as QB. He led them to a 7-1 record over the last 8 games of the season and they made the playoffs. The Eagles went 10-6 and lost by 2 points to the Saints in the 1st round
In 2014 he led the Eagles to a 5-2 record prior to getting hurt. Sanchez finished the season and failed to get the Eagles in the playoffs.
In 2015 (his only bad year) he struggled through 11 games under Jeff Fisher.
In 2016 he looked good when he got to play with the Chiefs but he was the back up to Alex Smith
In 2017 he went 2-1 to end the regular season after Wentz got hurt. The one loss was the last game of the season and Sudfield finished the game because it was meaningless. He then won 3 straight playoff games to win a SB.
In 2018 he went 1-1 to start the season and then the Eagles struggled under Wentz and were sitting at 6-7 when he took over. He won the last 3 regular season games which were the equivalent of playoff games and then 1 the first playoff game on the road against the Bears. Lost to the Saints in a game they may have won if Jeffery does not allow the ball to go through his hands for an int.

So, since 2013 he is 18-5 in the regular season as a starter for the Eagles (under 2 different coaching staffs) and 4-1 as a starter in the playoffs. Again, what has Teddy Bridgewater done?

I am not comparing him to Bridgewater. I am saying he's played well in like 1.5 seasons in his career (2013 and 2017).

His other seasons have ranged from awful to decent at best. For example, you point out 2014 and the Eagles 5-2 record but they were 5-2 largely not due to him. In those 7 games he had a rating of 81, which was average, at best.

SIGN HIM.

He won't affect the compensatory pick process and fills a huge need. No brainer.

Jags went from being $2.6 million under the cap to $24.2 million under the cap with these moves. I'm sure some of that is set aside to sign Nick Foles.
This is exactly why people who are talking about cap hell all the time need to take a step back and get their information from people who aren’t sucking on the Jones’ teets. The Jaguars went all in and signed a ton of people to make a run. It didn’t work and they are aggressively cutting people to create even more cap space. Meanwhile people here actually believe we can’t do anything in FA or we’re going to be losing all these winning pieces left and right.
