Is William McClay truly a GM without a title?

Someone remind everyone of how many championships Willy has won? If you're on his side, how long do you give him without winning one? Or then do you turn into it's not his fault because it's Jones who's the real GM? Is Willy the FO version of Jason Garrett?

If Garrett is an awful coach, and McClay is an awful talent evaluator, how has this team gone 32-16 the last three years?

Only one of those two is bad at their job, and it's not McClay.

This is the first time I've ever posted it. May have done before but not buy me. I don't think Jerry has made a football decision in the last 3 Seasons

Every decision that is made is either made by Jerry or with his blessing. He didn’t lose his ego or need to be in charge overnight.

He didn't give his Blessing on Johnny Football. Just saying. Jerry does not make all the decisions and giving his Blessing is not a decision. It's a go ahead. If you think it's best I don't know any longer

So you found one? Should we list again all the free agents this team has signed since McClay took over his current role? It's pretty poor.

I don't know if the front office just sucks at evaluating existing NFL talent, are too cheap or afraid to give out anything more than bargain bin contracts, but there is no question that they aren't all that good at using FA to improve their club.

He's been on the "scene" for over a decade in various roles in the organization.

His biggest addition to this franchise in his current role was exactly why Jerry installed him into that position. He's great at processing information and being able to take input from the coaches and scouts and put forth a clear pecking order in the draft for Jerry and Stephen to make their choices.

We have an odd structure where the owner and his son are the GMs but don't really do all the day to day stuff GMs do. I doubt Jerry is sitting around viewing college tape like most GMs might. Jerry trusts McClay to do all the leg work and give him the tools to make the right choice.

Absolutely awful at pro personnel decisions aka free agent signings. He's either handcuffed by Stephen's penny pinching or he's signing off on these bad decisions.

There's a simple solution. He should be Director of College Scouting/Evaluation and they should hire someone with the actual ability (and authority) to evaluate pro personnel.
