Could The Jones Boys Mean To Tank 2019?

While I'm already on the ledge this offseason, let's speculate why we are where we are right now at this moment.

First we have Jerry and Stephen talking about how they really, really want to win this year...which is strange and could mean just the opposite, since they never seemed to care too much over the last, oh, decade or so.

Keeping Garrett probably indicates they mean to promote Moore (Genius 2.0) to HC in 2020 and repeat Garrett all over again, but what if the rumors about Sean Payton are true?

What might be an incentive for Sean to tolerate Jerry? Well, a top 10 pick and some cap cash might help.

This might explain why we are sitting on our hands in FA, (although I know we always do that), and possibly low-balling our own.

So I ask you, would Jerry, who is all about revenue, risk TV ratings and one year closer to his coffin in order to reap rewards in 2020? I guess what we do with Tank will be very telling.

I just can’t see that. Jones is all about profits but I would never think they would rank deliberately

No, the team just doesn’t believe in paying big money for free agents anymore. It’s been a clear strategy for several years now.

I’m ok with that as long as the roster is improved. There’s still time. I’d like to see Suh signed to a one or two year deal and same thing with Berry. This defense needs veteran leadership outside of Sean Lee.

When have we ever been aggressive in free agency?

We will be good next year just returning what we got. Remember, we get Freddy back on OL and have a more creative play caller on offense. LVE and Jaylon are only going to get better. I think we have a real shot to make another wild card weekend run. Like it or not, thats the new standard in Dallas. Thats all the Jones boys can do without getting out of their comfort zone.

Tank the season?

Don’t ask Stephen and Jerry! This team is comparable to the 85 Bears, any Joe Montana led team or any 90s Cowboy teams! Hell we may be even MORE talented

Tanking after a double digit win season.. playoff win.. and played it close enough against a team that played in the super bowl?

I’ll have whatever OP is drinking

But we aren't returning what we had; we're down two significant players at the moment, and Tank up in the air. Nobody knows what Moore will do at OC (though granted he HAS to be better than Linehan). Getting Fred back is great news.

Not tanking...just business as usual for a team GM’d by Jerry Jones and HC’d by Jason Garrett.

There's a lot of over thinking going on here these days. Honestly brother, I think we are simply being frugal. Id love to think there is some long term master plan involved, but I dont.

JJ and SJ are simply of the belief that we draft very well and will use our money wisely and to secure our own. That said I still believe we re-sign Dlaw. Although it is possible the price of our own could exceed the value JJ and SJ places upon them, and in those cases they will walk.

We have a pattern of over correcting from week to week and apparently off season to off season. I honestly thought this offseason we'd lock down our guys and add a stud or two, but it appears we will once again be bargain shopping. I hope thats not the case but we already see the safety market drying up.

Another pathetic post. Dude. It’s the freakin first day of free agency draft more then a month away , off season in full effect and you think we are purposely tanking. Sure Jerry. Goes and gives a 1st for amari mid season fires a coach and gets the team turned around because he wants to lose. Never just because you don’t agree with not getting the overpaid first tier fa doesn’t mean squat. He fired lineman to get better not worse. Knee jerk over reaction to Moore being promoted. He may be good may be bad but he wasn’t hired to lose incurable that. If Jerry wanted to lose bring back Linehan and extend Garett and trade dak zeke and tank. You know like the giants. They are looking to tank. That’s obvious.
