last year Dak in 5 games couldn't crack 200 yards passing, in 5 other games he couldn't crack 250 yards passing, in a passing league that horrible, he's a bus driver of a QB at this point....he's not even in the same league as Romo when we're comparing Qb's talent wise but Romo was prone to bad decisions...And minnesota regrets that Cousins trade......and I'll go with what Troy Aikman, three time Superbow QB and MVP and Hall of famer.......you either have the ability to throw a football or you don't.....that comment pretty much tells me about Dak
But but but Daks a winner... unless he doesn’t have an eliteWr, RB and OL. Lol

The clock is ticking. Once we sign Dak and start chopping up this core of talent we’ll see what we have. Hopefully it’s more than we had without Eliott, Cooper and Smith.

Show me how Aikman was (his rookie season) without elite offensive talent around him.

Tank, Dak, Cooper, Jaylon, Zeke, and Byron.

Say goodbye to that cap space.
Lmao y’all do realize that cap space doesn’t play on sundays right? The whole point of money is to sign good players lol, all those guys have been Pro-Bowlers, All-Pros, or both. We should be overjoyed that we have that many high quality guys on the team and the money to keep them all.

Not whining for more cap space lol

They need to get it done before Russel Wilson or the price goes up. Right now, Dallas has one cheap year to use as a bargaining chip. Next year, our leverage goes to zero. Its the wrong play, but this is the Dallas shuffle......... 1 step forward and 2 steps back.

Four of those games he didn't crack 200 yards in were before we traded for Cooper. His numbers jumped way up after that trade. He had a 455 yard game which was the 3rd most passing yards in franchise history. He had 387 yards in the season finale with a CLUTCH 4th down TD to Beesley to win the game. He was on pace for 4500 yards the second half of the season after the Cooper trade. We did Dak no favors starting the season with no Dez, Witten or a legit #1 receiver. Gallup was a rookie plus Twill was gone. The only real experienced receiver we had other than Thompson who was a scrub was Beesley. The Cowboys have a run first offense that features Zeke. Aikman didn't have a a lot of passing yards in a run first offense that featured Emmitt. At this point in Russell Wilson's career he was a bus driver in an offense that featured Beast Mode. Everything that's being said about Dak from this fan base was being said about Wilson a few years ago.

As for Aikman's comment he was referring to accuracy not the ability to throw the football. lol Click on the link to the video. https://cowboyszone.com/threads/troy-aikman-on-accuracy-you-either-have-it-or-you-dont.424371/

You didn't answer my question what do you do at the QB position if Dak doesn't prove to "you" he's deserving of a long-term contract?

Not having a good portion of the cap tied to 3 players on offense.
Oh I don’t think you realize, we have the money to pay everyone. 90M in cap 2020, this will not be an issue. Hence the whole reason the team has been cheap on outside FA’s lol

The Giants, that dreadful football team, you need a late touchdwon to beat the Giants, a playoff team with a good quarterback puts that team away in the first half...

And I heard plenty of the receivers on this team telling the media early in the season they were open before Cooper got here but Dak was too busy, standing in the pocket tapping the football taking sacks instead of throwing his dink and dunk passes....Dak has a long way to go before he should be handed the keys to the bus.....and the Cowboys should draft a developing qb every two years..

How much we have now may not be the same in a year - a lot can happen.

Somebody is going to be the odd man out in this - even if it's not a guy we have mentioned yet. You give out big contracts and overpay, someone is leaving without a contract eventually.

You can't have a ton of money tied up between a top 3 RB, overpay for a middling QB, and giving big money to WR along with the O-Line getting decent money and it not impact you somewhere on the defense.

This is also when I start to look at being able to pay depth players in the future as well. You lose somewhere.
