Ok, I’ll admit right up front that I’ve never seen a single episode of the show. With that said, it’s popularity is hard to escape so I do have some small amount of general knowledge of Game of Thrones. My question is this. Isn’t the show based upon a series of books? And if the series has generally followed what is written in the books doesn’t that mean that the ending is already known?
If you were within reach, we'd flail you within an inch of your life. bb, this is not the best show for excitable boys like me. Dinner is coming and I am honnnnnnnngry!!!!!

What if everyone dies and the Age of The Iron Throne is over? This fight is not just bringing kingdoms together, but the people themselves and after the fight the survivors realize they no longer want to be subjects and be ruled over and used as pawns by kings or queens. After such an encompassing and costly battle(s), many rulers dead and what few may remain, they no longer have the resources or power to command the remainders of humanity. Someone new or unexpected rises as a leader, a new type of leader, with a new and different structure that their world has not known before and break the feudal type system.

Way outside the box, but considering how global and catastrophic the outcome could become, it could be the type of event to completely change how things have ever been before.
Get a grip, man. And call someone to come watch it with you, preferably with a sedative.

The only question I have is can someone sit on the Iron Throne with hemorrhoids? I will be Sir CC from the house of Prep H and son of Pain in the ***.

The question I have is, what will the final battle be? Will it be the White Walkers, or will it be Cersei's army? Maybe some 3 way free for all?

What is wrong with the people? They're faced with extinction and all they can do is whine about Jon bending the knee?

This went exactly the way most of the first episodes of each season went imo. This one was just basically to set a foundation.

The books aren't finished yet.

I’m a fan of GOT, but this episode had a strange vibe. When Danaerys(sp?) and Jon Snow went out for a dragon ride I felt like this thing turned into a romantic comedy.

I was half expecting to see a scene of Danaerys trying on multiple wedding dresses in a fitting room to the approval of her closest girlfriends.

I felt really bad for Sam Tully. Good for him how he delivered the truth to Jon. No way that dragon lady is going to bend the knee to King Jon. I believe the dragon Jon was riding sensed he is a Targaryen.

Yawn episode.

Too much scaffolding being laid and not enough YEAH! happening.

yep...

a bit anticlimactic.

I'm sorry but after taking a year off in the first episode of the last season
someone of importance in the story needed to die.

It will be interesting watching how Sam deals with the truth of Dany's punishment of his father and brother. Sam is extremely loyal and I doubt he would ever turn on Jon but no one ever truly knows which direction GOT will take its characters. I am sure Sam will be empathic of Jon's love for Dany but can Sam's friendship for Jon survive this test? I hope so.

Sam's news has rocked Jon to his core. How does he reconcile being in love with his aunt? I have little doubt the revelation of knowing both who he truly is and who his biological paternal family is will impact him extremely but he is a Stark also. The Stark family has been Jon's primary self-identification, one he has always fought for acknowledgment.

Jon has always wanted to live up to Ned Stark's ideal, to protect his family and The North--so much so that (up to this point) he placed those over his own desire. Does the revelation ultimately raise the option of ruling above his past desire? In my option, he will not seek the throne UNLESS Dany does something that will endanger the welfare of the North and the Seven Kingdoms. News of Dany killing Sam's family did not shake his bond for Dany. I think whatever event that would spark Jon into rebelling against Dany will be extremely powerful.

Olenna Tyrell gave Dany her best advice: "Be a dragon." She has always sought her birthright and has gone through hell to reclaim it. I believe Sam was right. Dany would not renounce her claim to the Iron Throne, even to Jon. Personally I am in her corner 100%--unless she turns into Cersei...

Sorry DE. When Danny refuses to bend the knee, Sam is going to demand that she be killed for it like his father and brother and we all know. What Sam says is what goes. She is DEAD DEAD DEAD!!!
