Lord, How many posts a day can this board discuss good Dak verses bad Dak ? Although it does prove to be very entertaining for non Cowboys fans.

Dak isn't the greatest but there's also some Dak Derangement Syndrome at work here, looking at some names being mentioned ahead of him.

The NFL QB Royalty - Brady, Rodgers, Brees

The Savvy Vets - Rivers, Wilson, Ryan

The Young Gunslingers - Mahomes, Watson

I Don't Know What to Call Them but Likely Better than Dak - Luck

That's 9 guys right there. I think Mayfield will be a better QB than Dak (in other words, I'd trade Dak for Mayfield straight up right now). Big Ben? Hmmm, time has ravaged him but he's probably still better than Dak. Last year, he was criticized for his play and still put up a 96 QB rating and a QBR of 73. He's on a seven year run of QB ratings of 92 or above.

So now 11th at best.

He's in the gaggle with Goff and Wentz and some others outside the Top 10.

Brady, yes
Ben, yes but he is on the downside
Mayfield, no, need to see him this year first
Rivers, yes, but you can also say overall comparable as you listed a few in that category, long career stats does not make him better overall
Mahomes, yes, but also need to see his 2nd full season, but yes
Watson, no, give me Dak for now, need to see more from Watson, I am not all that impressed yet
Luck, yes
Rodgers, yes
Stafford, not really, put him in with Rivers, neither has won over their careers, just stat guys
Ryan, yes, but in a way no, got team to the SB, but look at his surrounding cast also. have you truly seen him carry the team
Brees, yes
Cam, not from the past season, but yes in his 3rs year and a few after. but not now, but he could be again
Wentz, no, not rally, but comparible
Goff, yes he has shown a lot in his 2 years as a full time starter
Wilson, yes, but he also had the D that Dak needs, and he has improved over the years, so still at this point, yes

Fair enough..

Now imagine the 3 guys you said no to (Mayfield, Watson and Wentz) having Zeke behind them.. I bet they would look much better.

1. Rodgers
2. Brady
3. Brees
4. Mahomes
5. Wilson
6. Rivers
7. Luck
8. Ryan
9.(Maybe Dak) Few others I lump together around here. Wentz/Goff/Watson/Newton/Roethlisberger/Stafford
Then everyone else.

I’m close to this. I wouldn’t put Rodgers above the GOAT but I would probably replace Ryan with Roth and keep Dak around 9. I just think Dak is less prone to choke than Ryan. I might even take Dak over Rivers.

Dak is #1 and knows it. Every time he gets a TD he lets the world know.

I would rank him higher as a QB than as a passer but that is not really the question, it is where will he end up? Is he at his peak or does he have more improvement to go? Can he improve his pocket presence and timed delivery of the ball?

I do not think we have the whole Prescott movie yet, just a few trailers and stills. The only thing I do know is that QB's that came out touted a lot more than he was and were top 5 or 10 picks in the draft have not fared as well in their first 3 years. Not unusual for the highly touted like Manning and Luck to lead the league in picks in their first year.

Only time will tell and it looks like he's going to get that time. I guess every team has their detractors of certain players like the QB and we've gone from one polarizing QB to another but it is interesting to look at the posters on the opposite poles of each QB. And I find myself in exactly the same spot with both. I see other QB's I would rather have but more that I would rather not have.

It is the new good DLaw verses bad DLaw thread overload. Soon it will be onto the next player....then back to Dak...:muttley:

Just one of those things. I’m a fan, but I was confronted with how I’d rank him, and figured I’d pass the buck lol.

He's extremely middle of the pack. Other ranks

#12 in passer rating
#15 in yards
#16 in touchdowns

Basically the extremists on both sides are kind of full of it. Not making a political statement, just talking football facts. :p

I would take Dak over Cousins, and Goff. Trubisky is a push but i'd lean towards Dak.

Cam isn't on this list but was there any doubt after Carolina last year as to who was the better player?

Trubisky and Cousins are kind of whatever, but Goff has been way better than Dak over the last 2 seasons. 1 bad Super Bowl (which Dak hasn't even reached, of course) doesn't change that.

Goff is a system QB that is a deer in the headlights in big moments. McVay has to hold his hand until the ball is snapped.

Give me Dak over Goff any day.
