I just don’t agree. IMO— Zeke is a generational talent— you think we can “get by” with lesser talent at RB bc of our superior OL play.

I question the wisdom of cutting a potential HOF player at any position. Zeke is not there yet— but he definitely has that ceiling.

The fact we have a great OL is a reason to KEEP Zeke, not cut him! We should maximize what we do well IMO!! Zeke and the OL is clearly a partnership that is working and producing well— why “fix” what isn’t broken?!

Cap space?! Pffffff... we can figure it out! We are talking Gurley numbers— 13-15 mil per year for a perennial rushing champion?! Definitely doable
Funny thing is, there's been tons of proof to the contrary, but people are still insisting on this any RB will do mess. All the way back to Emmit's backup, and prolly before.

BALT never recovered from losing Ray Rice. NE keeps getting tough yard RB's like Blount, and now Michel, who Belly took in the 1st round, BTW. Belly doesn't agree w/ RB's having no value.

i really like the way Stephen and JJ are running the salary cap these days . I think they finally realize the importance of a stout defense to win championships, and avoiding monster contracts on one or two super stars. The Patriots blue print basically .
Zeke is a top tier RB , but Stephen is not going to spend silly , Gurley like money, on a RB. It is well documented that the RB position is the easiest to replace and rookie RBs can contribute immediately . Look at the cowboys after Demarco Murray departed.

If i were Stephen i would go after a quality RB in round 3 or 4 . Rodney Anderson from Oklahoma will probably be available. That guy is a beast and would be a steal . Brice Love /Stanford is another .
N (nnn) O ( ohh)! Hell no. Good Lord, son. Are you mental??????????????????????

You are on ignore!!

Baltimore's problem was never losing Ray Rice, it was losing two legendary defensive players after the Super Bowl and Flacco's inconsistent play and injuries.

The fact you think Ray freakin' Rice was the reason for their decline is laughable. Also, he sucked in 2013 and would have lost his job to Forsett in 2014 anyways. In case you forgot, they got back to the divisional round in 2014 and nearly took out the Patriots again.

How did the team do during Zeke's absence? Morris' yards meant little in 27-7, 37-9, and 28-6 losses that ultimately cost them a playoff spot.
So you’re automatically assuming if Zeke were there than they would have won? That’s a hell of an assumption. What about if Zeke didn’t step out of bounds against Seattle or fumble the ball deep in their territory in the 4th quarter? Would we have won? Point is you can’t say we would have won as if it’s fact.

You don’t take a RB at #4 and then ditch him after his first contract is up

Elliott is a core piece of this team that needs to be signed

Only way I’d consider letting Elliott walk is if we win the Super Bowl this year
We just don’t. That’s all.

Remember 2017 w/o Zeke, that`s what this offense would basically look like without him, he is not replacable, at least not on this offense.

The offense was back to normal with Tyron back when Zeke was out. Don't know how this is so difficult to understand.

In four games without Zeke, that we had Tyron we scored 38, 30, 20 and 36 points lol. All of them W's.

More power to you then, we don`t need Zeke to win in this offense, those 4.000+ rushing yards, 28 rushing td`s, 135 receptions with 1,200 yards and 6 td`s in just 40 games are waaaaay overated, just let him go for crying out loud, lol.
I get that you love Dak and all but not even him would agree with you on this one, lol, but hey, to each his own I guess.

In 2017 Morris had less than half the attempts and over half of Zeke’s total yards. But I’m sure there’s plenty of excuses of why he did so well. I’m sure it had nothing to do with the O line and other teams were just “letting” him run down their throats, right? Yawn.
Lol! And yet they couldn't score and the QB was completely disfuncrional!

Oh, but wait, I thought Dak was “shell shocked” from the Atlanta game and it took him a year to recover, even with Zeke?

Where was Zeke vs Denver? How many yards did he get that game? Where was Zeke during the Colts game? I don’t recall Morris ever being the starter when they were shut out for the first time in how many decades?

Morris averaged 4.8 ypc in 2017, Zeke was 4.1.

Kinda funny how we scored the 2nd most points all season against the Gnats in week 17 without Zeke than with him.

These are all stats, that if were flipped, would be used to argue how valuable Zeke is but since it’s Morris there’s nothing but excuses.

If you take away Morris's fluky 70 yarder in 2017 (his next longest rushes of the season were 22, 20, and 16), then he averaged the same 4.1 YPC as Zeke did. He averaged sub 4 YPC the year before that with the Cowboys and the year after that with the 49ers, so I think it's pretty safe to say that he's a scrub.

And WRT to Zeke during the Colts game, he put up 87 rushing yards on 4.8 YPC plus 7/41 receiving, which is an average to above average Zeke game. Hell, he had 71 combined yards just in the first quarter, we just went away from feeding him after that. It probably wouldn't have been a shutout either if Linehan had fed Zeke on 3rd and goal in the second instead of freaking Jamize Olawale.

In short, he's not the reason we lost, at all. If anything he was the best player on the field for us both on offense and defense that week.

I cant stop laughing when people talk abou the "Patriots Blueprint."
When we have Tom Brady, I will agree with you.... run that playbook. We Have Dak Prescott.

it's as bad as all the other "let all our 1st round and 2nd round picks walk after their first contract". Guys turn out to be good and nope, can't keep them.

Not only is he elite and consistent... he is young. He will be turning 24 in July. Keeping him on the roster for the next 4-5 years is a no-brainer IMO.

Yes, you can find solid RBs to produce for you. BUT, when you find a generational talent, you build your offense around him.

Zeke is a generational talent at RB. If Stephen lets him walk and he plays out his prime years somewhere else— it will be the biggest mistake SJ has made in his career

No lies were told in this post.

Zeke:

40 Games
868 carries
4,048 yards
4.7 ypc
28 TDs

135 receptions
1199 yards
8.9 ypr
6 TDs

Those are elite numbers. In any era. Behind any OL. It is not "up to me" to prove anything to you. You believe anyone can run behind our OL... I sure as hell don't. If your assertion were true-- Rod Smith would have had comparable numbers to Zeke last year. Did he? Not even close. Morris had a 70 yard run that was an anomaly for his career and made his numbers in 2017 look much better than they actually were-- but the fact that you are insisting his stats "prove" anything is laughable.

Our offensive philosophy is clearly run first and control the clock. Zeke is the perfect back for that style. Durable, powerful, great in short yardage, solid receiver, great at pass pro... The proof that he is the what "makes us go" is staring you in the face.
Zeke is the basis of our success. Yeah, we have a great Oline, when everyone is healthy, but Rod didn't perform like Zeke, and neither did Morris, who did OK but not like Zeke.

Dallas went 3-3 during Zeke's suspension.

Home wins over the Skins (7-9) away against the Giants (3-13), and an escape from Oakland (6-10) thanks to Jeff Heath's forced fumble late.
