Take what you can, but don’t get robbed
NFL player value is at its lowest around draft time.

Taco Charlton has talent, but he regressed last season and undoubtedly some teams out there are hoping to get him for a cheap look.

If the team is ready to move on already, so be it, but I haven't gotten that impression. It would be much better to take guys like this to training camp/pre-season and see how things unfold.

We'll be able to see how position depth looks, watch out for any injuries to our guys and see if another club suffers a setback that would lead to them picking up the phone to inquire about one of our guys.

Taco has good value even though he hasnt done much.
He has the fifth year option if he starts tracking up hill.
Three names to watch
Taco
Hurns
And
A. BROWN.

You could essentially use pick 58 and Taco to move up in the draft and gain a pick.

Maybe

Pick 58, Taco, 5th rounder and a future 4th rounder.

To lets say Dolphins 48 and 78.
They have a new GM who wants young guys and future picks. Wouldnt be bad for them at all there coaching staff was also hoy on him last year.

48 Juan Thornhill S Virginia
78 Tristan Hill DT UCF
90 Dawson Knox TE Ole Miss
128 Mecole Hardman Wr\Kr Georgia
136 Derek Thomas CB Baylor
7th Round Tony Pollard RB Memphis

A 5th...a 6th...whatever we can get. Take the cap relief (hopefully) and run. He's a typical enabled clown from University of Michigan. They have a list of high draft pick busts a mile long over the years. Brady is one of the best QB's ever (some would argue THE best) but he was a 6th rounder. N.England caught lightning in a bottle and have admitted as much. Back to my point: high drafted Wolverine players have serious attitude issues on a consistent basis. Charlton joins guys like J. Peppers (Browns) and

You could be right. I doubt it but it's possible. Thing is, the guy is arrogant and selfish IMHO. I don't trust him but I also said that about Lawrence at one point and was dead wrong. So...we will see. I don't think they'll trade him the more I ponder it. He COULD blossom like you say and then what would they have to show for it..a 4th or 5th rounder? No, they'll hold on one more year, mostly because Gregory is suspended again.
Peppers is a Giant.

To get Thornhill and Hill, or any combo of a S and DT would be worth it.
I am not high on taking a WR and a TE, unless the TE is to replace Rico. I thong we are set at TE. I think we do need to draft a LB. roster is short on LB position.

And if that is the case...then just goes to show we don't dig deep enough on peoples backgrounds. That's lazy scouting....and the GM not putting in the hours.

I couldn't agree more. Some guys in here are in love with Will McClay and they may be right but that was a BAD pick. Charlton was an enigma in college. Had one good year and the rest was garbage. Plus, he's immature and pretty full of himself considering his up and down results in college and tNFL.

Yeah...now, but drafted by Cleveland. Just saying, recent vintage of high U of M draft picks have been bad news. Frank Clark is the exception: good player for Seahawks but a crappy guy. (assaulted a girlfriend in front of her nephew I believe in college and was suspended for it)

I'd take a 5th rounder and considering paying the airfare if it means unloading Charlton. Ciao Ciao!
