Reports are that the cards are off the Murray train per their camp. They are keeping Rosen.

Plus there is no reason for them to lie about that since they can get Murray regardless with their high pick.
Mort literally just said there is a 100% chance of him being selected by the Cards

I dont know what report you're talking about

Yes, please. Trade for Rosen. There is a good chance that he will be a much better passer which the offense needs.

Fair enough but keep in mind, you might need that Tag for Zeke, at some point so if can't get Dak signed, you could put yourself in a situation where you lose all of your leverage or you lose Zeke.

Understood.

I think it would give the team more leverage and I don't see how that could be a bad thing, if you are a fan of the team and not just Dak, but for the record, I believe that if Dak can prove he is taking the next step this coming season, I'm in it for Dak all day and I'm on board with paying him a 27-28 Million dollar deal. If that happens, then you got Rosen as your backup. In my mind, that's a much better situation then we have now and I'd be willing to bet that Rosen, if given the opportunity is going to look much better in our offense, after a year to learn it, then he ever did in Az. At that point, assuming you could get Dak signed, then I wouldn't be surprised if you could parley him into a 2nd by a team who needs a QB. I mean, the guy does have skills. To me, this would be much like what Jimmy did with Steve Beurlein and Steve Walsh in the Early 90s.
Team first always.

But Rosen's hypothetical presence on the roster will not affect DaksD contract negotiations UNLESS Dak has a bad 2019 and Rosen shows some promise in Camp.

I am not sold on Dak but their is no argument against winning

This might be, you never know. As to having no reason to lie, that's not true at all. You never let another team know what your draft plans are, regardless of if you have the first pick or not.

Well their plan is out the window anyway since to have already claimed and unclaimed murray!

They are playing games. Everybody knows the cards are full of it!

This report was 2 days ago. I haven't read anything recent and have the access atm to any updated news.

Anyway, I'd take Rosen as a backup. Like him since he first committed to UCLA.

I think it would effect negotiations from the team side. I mean, Dak may not care at all but, I think it puts the team in a different situation if they have a guy who has some starting experience as opposed to entering the negotiations with nobody on the roster who has started a single game in the NFL.

But that's just my opinion.

Well, if the Cards are, in fact, interested in taking Murray, I can't argue with you. If that's the case, the Cards have screwed the pouch about as bad as is possible on that one.

The Cowboys are more than likely to see what they have (or don't have) in Mike White before they commit haphazardly in someone like Josh Rosen to aid their cause. The Cardinals are likely hell-bound to get all they can to recover their original commitment for him, which would not serve the Cowboys well, imho. I expect Dallas to see what they have in Mike White before committing to a deal that might easily do them a disservice in the long run.

I agree, he is not a guy who is going to be able to take a pounding the way Dak can, in the run game etc. but that, to me, is why he could be a good fit for us. I think that our OL is going to be much improved this year and I could see a guy like Rosen being able to stand in and throw behind our OL. He's an excellent throwing QB, very good footwork. He has some skills as a thrower. Not a lot of teams can pass protect as well as we can when our OL is healthy. Besides, ideally he is our backup so he wouldn't be our starter unless pressed into action. IDK, i just like him better then anything we have on the roster right now as backup.

Still missing Romo, eh?

You pretty much described Romo in everything you said physically about Rosen.

I'm going to be called blind/crazy/etc but watch Dak Prescott make us think we got a deal if we sign him $25-$30 million a season.

After his rookie season we all were in the opinion that this organization found lightening in a bottle. Injury and disaster aside we are going to be very happy having Dak Prescott after this season.

A team that desperately needs a QB will be willing to pay more -- and even if they weren't, why would we? We are hell bent on paying Dak and if that's true nothing useful comes from having Rosen.

I don't think they would accept a 3rd for a first round qb one year removed.

I agree, plus I don't think there is any evidence Rosen would be an upgrade over Dak anyway. Even looking at him as a prospect, his college passing stats and QB rating weren't as good as Dak's, he doesn't have any better arm strength, and he isn't remotely as mobile.

Do I miss Romo? Of course, were he healthy, he would be heads and shoulders better then either Dak or Rosen or any other QB on the roster.

Do I think Rosen is Tony? Of course not. Romo was mobile and could do a lot of things Rosen can not, in terms of mobility. I don't think they are the same guy.
