Such a weird thing really; how he had almost instant chemistry with Cooper but struggled with Gallup. I'm hoping with a full offseason their chemistry will be a lot better.
Route running is an art even on deep passes. Michael Irvin himself blamed Gallup.

If Dak can make defenses pay for covering our receivers 1 on 1 we will be tough to beat.
Totally agree. This explains year 2 struggles for Dak. Seemed like two huge games by Cooper finally made defenses adjust. Hopefully that becomes more true this year.

Some of this is on Dak but some as well on a rookie WR. It was pointed out during games this past season where he needs to learn to give the QB more space down the sidelines by pushing the defender more to the inside giving him the space back to the sideline. With a year under his belt and a full year and off season with Dak I fully believe that Gallup numbers will rise. Kid is a very good WR but just like the vast majority rookie WR there is much to learn

Gallup would have had either close to 1000 or over 1000 but dak missed him so many times

That eagles game I kid you not dak could have had 700 yards if he hit Gallup the times he was open

But later in the season you saw dak get rhythm with Gallup and I think it’ll be a heck of a combo
And most of those misses were on the WR...but keep blaming Dak because the wr would stop on routes...lol

Shows the difference from a complete WR and a rookie. Theres more to playing WR then just running routes. Reading the CB and the S and the transition in the route. Collinsworth talked about this last yr during one of the Cowboys games and said Cooper was one of of the best at doing it in the nfl and thats why he was having so much success with Dak on the long ball.

Defenses clamped down on Cooper the last few games of the season. Hopefully neismeyer and Garrett can guide Moore in game planning and of course dialing up some plays to take advantage of these 1 on 1 situations.

Totally -- but notice that Jarwin and Beasley came alive for the first time in forever after those two games. That's why I'm hopeful. Things might start to look like Dak's rookie year if, as you said, teams continue to single up on the outside.

Not going to lie, when we got Cooper, I completely forgot about Gallup. Gallup has some great speed and runs great routes. Both Cooper and Gallup can get that YAC.

Gallup and Cooper could make for a killer duo. If they could have shades of Harper and Irvin that would be the icing on the cake.

I believe Gallup showed everything you would hope for a receiver drafted at his spot, I'm hoping for a steal and my gut tells me we got one. @Mr_437
Absolutely! He established himself as a legitimate weapon, and if they single cover him, which they will cause of Zeke n Coop, he's going to show out on a regular basis.

My only question is can he develop into a WR1?

Gallup is going to be a beast in 2019, I expect Dak's TD's to shoot up from the low 20s to the mid-30s because of Gallup.

Wow how did he get so open running half speed.. he must be amazing

You get open by running fast, then in the middle of your route and you don't think the ball is coming you slow down. QB throws the ball as if you are funning full speed and the ball arrives a few yards out of reach because of the hesitation.

Simple stuff.

Mid 30's? Im not seeing that one. This will still be a run first offense with a good defense. And he also runs in 6-8 TD's which limits the passing TD's. A lot depends on Moore and what he does. I can see Dak reach 28- 30 TD's passing and then another 8 rushing. That's how you get to mid 30's.

I think Amari and Cobb will definitely help Gallup out greatly. I mean watching and studying Amaris route running and habits will help. A full offseason with Amari, Gallup and Cobb as 1,2 and 3 will help Dak also...since we moved past the whole committee approach lol

The front office was so braindead going that route. Amari mitigated that stupidity greatly.
