And Jerry spends his "golden years" counting his billions while Stephen is installing his solid gold vault ready to inherit when daddy leaves for that AT&T stadium in the sky.
That's fine but we are talking about winning games not business acumen.

You heard Stephen ( with Jerry and Red looking on) say that they really don't allocate that many resources to safety. They have said countless times that they like who they have and are just hunky dory with Heath. Some guys on this board just need to give up on the safety trade or acquisition. Heath is our man.
He didn’t say “don’t” he said “haven’t”. Quit lying.

Brown and it’s not even close. At least he won’t be a sniveling cry baby on the sidelines.
I agree that it's not even close between those two.

Guess players can't show emotion anymore, and sniveling was never his thing. #FakeNews

I'd still be interested in Dez and Berry
dez? why? he had lost a step and his agility, now late in last season he tore his Achilles, which usually takes at least one year before you can really regain your agility....his time has gone. I am not interested.

Berry...hmmm, if he is any good why is he still out there. it kind of reminds me of Revis...in the end he lived off the fumes of his reputation, when he clearly lost what he had that made him special....is berry similar?

Broaddus has an interesting quote at the team website. Unlike some here, I have a lot of respect for Broaddus, but he isn't the smoothest writer on the planet. His comment could be read more than one way -- "From my understanding they had a discussion about drafting Juan Thornhill before they selected Trysten Hill. I don’t disagree with you about the position but I think we’re getting closer to adding a real difference maker there besides Xavier Woods."

He either means the Cowboys are closer, philosophically, to valuing a difference maker at safety, or he thinks there might be a trade or late free agent in play. I'm not sure which.
I read it as, the team has finally allocated major resources to every other position group (remember how we didn’t value DT’s with top selections?). So by a virtue of a process of elimination, unless another position group is ravaged by injury, the next position in-line for a personnel-emphasis is the SS position.

We should/and could very well enter the 2020 draft with no draft needs except SS. RB/QB/O-Line all have the necessary talent and depth. While TE and WR have at least the starters and immediate depth covered.

The defensive line has a breadth of talent and can withstand the departure of Quinn next year. LB and CB also have their starters in place with immediate depth on the roster as well.

SS will quite literally be the only position in need of an upgrade at starter. Broaddus, like I, expect the team to address that with its 1st round choice in 2020. Getting a stud playmaker seems like what SJ wants, not just solid or good players, but a real impact guy. Hopefully one or two are available next year.

Old boy is saying it doesn't matter what "we" talk about. Whether it's winning, or losing, or players, or strategy.
They are going to do what they do.

Just so we understand. You go into a thread about players that we can sign currently, and one of your comments is "if he is so good why is he still out there", which would apply to every single player that any poster mentions.

I know what he is saying. He's saying they don't care they will do it their way and count billions while they do. And I said their way hasn't translated to winning in 23 years.
