*** SPOILERS *** Game of Thrones Season 8

Agree with much of this. However, I did like it a lot more than you did, apparently. But it did seem a bit anticlimactic.

Btw, You nailed the Night King exit before it happened. Well done.
I was thinking about 1/2 to 1/3 of the Unsullied were still alive. Did I miss something?

Also, Arya hasn't used her projectile spear yet. Maybe that is being saved for that beast protecting Cersi.

She used it, and it wasn't a projectile, it was detachable. So it could either be a single staff, or two shorter weapons. She used it both ways.

I think this episode only clarified that George Martin and D&D, the show’s creators, are not as creative as fans thought they were. All of these theories about the Night King, Jon Snow, Dany, etc was all BS. None of the phophecies came true. It was all very simple. It was good guys fighting bad guys without all of the backstories that fans had came up with. I was really let down in a way. Where do they go from here? The great battle against evil is over. It has gone back to the same families fighting for the throne. That is really a let down after all these years of build up.

But it did seem a bit anticlimactic.

I had this feeling about this battle as well.

Also...

The Massacre at Hardhome and the Battle of the *******s
you could see the action developing.

This battle for the most part was dark and blurry.

This show is going the route of LOST - going to be one of the most disappointing final seasons of any show. Worse yet, some people have waiting 2 decades for this.

So no one has mentioned how much like rookies Dany and Jon looked in that battle? They made a couple of nice passes, but spent entirely too much time just flapping around on their dragons, then in the clouds, above the clouds, getting further from the battle.....WTH?

Dany without her dragons is pretty worthless, not Sansa what do I do with this dagger worthless, still pretty worthless. During her "fight" scenes she was just using Jorah as a human shield and taking a few pot-stabs.

White Walkers should be extremely pissed off folks. Just imagine...

"Well I just died so I can rest. Wait. The Night King is raising me? Dang. Okay. Oh wait. I got speared through the skull. Guess I'm dead again. NOW I can finally rest. Dang it! Night King is putting his voodoo on me AGAIN???"

If I had been writing this, I would have had the battle for King's Landing take place before the battle for mankind but Cersei has been the ultimate antagonist from the get go and could go punch for punch with the Night King in nastiness and that's the showdown that's been brewing for 8 seasons.

But it does have a weird vibe to it like we've just beaten the Saturnians in an intergalactic battle for the universe and now we're coming back to fight the *****.

However, we do not know what's in store for us when they arrive at King's Landing, we got ships and dragons and catapults and bigass crossbows and arrows and swords and daggers, oh my, all kinds of fun stuff and I hope the battle is during the day so I can see more. I'd hate to find out after the battle that someone I wanted whacked got it. I want the blood, the gore, the carnage in real time, I sleep better at night.

Guess I'd have to watch it again to know if it was just me, but there were moments where I wondered what the heck Dany was doing.

One was after they lit the trench and her dragon breathed fire over a bunch of the undead. Seemed like she/her dragon stopped before they needed to. Or maybe I just didn't see something.

It was like, did the dragons run out of firebreath? Really very few passes with the fire and she let the dragon get swarmed by the walkers, the dragon wasn't even trying to defend it self either. Dany and Jon were big disappointments.

Oh, so they were signaling Dany (Who couldn't see through the winter storm brought on by the white walkers) to light the fire while all that time Jon was sitting on his dragon (Rhaegon, I think) on Winterfell's freaking wall picking his nose. You'd think he'd notice that the fire needed to be lit and conveniently had a dragon shaped and sized bic lighter he was sitting on.

That was the whole point of the snow storm.... the Night King made it impossible for Dany and Jon to see on the Dragons... the clouds were so low

He is the NIGHT KING

It had to be dark and confusing

He created blizzard conditions that neutralized the dragons

Sending the Dothraki out to an open and drak field was a terrible move though.... you had to light them up first and the send the cavalry

The Dragons should have concentrated on killings the Lieutenants.... they also take their army with them when they die

Darkness was not so much my issue as the blurriness. I took the same precaution as @CouchCoach and turned off all lights where I watched the episode. I even adjusted my television screen settings but nothing I did really improved the blurriness.
I assumed from the beginning it would be dark, and turned down the lights. But during the battle scenes I looked at my niece and said, "I feel like a have a crappy TV!" Glad everyone else had the same issues!
