i think i liked the battle of *** better, if we're talking the same thing. hardhorn? is that when they balled up north of the wall and went rolling down the hills to fight and they all got away by boat? i think that was hardhorn. that's my fav so far but this was pretty damn close.
someone else explained the white walkers were created as a defense from humans. i had to dig back in my mind cause i slammed 5 seasons into like 2 weeks and when you gloss over that much, you miss some details.Yes on Hardhorn. Battle of the *******s was great. IMO last night was the best. The show is amazing. Incredible job getting all that material / storylines on the screen.
Yeah, those forest girls created the white walkers to end the human race, but they screwed up and created the potential end of the world.someone else explained the white walkers were created as a defense from humans. i had to dig back in my mind cause i slammed 5 seasons into like 2 weeks and when you gloss over that much, you miss some details.![]()
She is totally badassAwesome episode! Go Arya!!

I read this morning that he watched the battle scenes in "Lord of the Rings", and you could tell with the Dothraki charge with flaming swords, for battle fatigue for the viewers. He studied the breaks from the action in order to lengthen the battle. One thing for sure, that's definitely not TV like.Last night’s episode was the greatest episode of TV ever produced. Same director as the Battle of the *******s, Hardhorn, and Lannister Army wipeout episodes. Guy is amazing.
Best show ever.
Giant KillerGreat episode! I really felt that Arya was going to be the one to do what she did since she had that weapon drawing she handed Gendry. That she didn't do it with that weapon is what surprised me. It also surprised me that there were less named/important character deaths than there were on-screen than I expected.
Lyanna Mormont: Tiny, but FIERCE!
Totally lived up to the hype...... several of us met for a viewing party and we all loved itLast night’s episode was the greatest episode of TV ever produced. Same director as the Battle of the *******s, Hardhorn, and Lannister Army wipeout episodes. Guy is amazing.
Best show ever.
Agree with much of this. However, I did like it a lot more than you did, apparently. But it did seem a bit anticlimactic.I liked last nights episode but did feel as tho there was something lacking. I liked the battle between Ramsey and Jon Snow much more than last night. I know the setting with the cold and snow made it difficult to even see and know what is going on. Who was fighting who, what dragons were running into each other, Who was on the dragon during a scene. All frustrating from a viewers view. I knew last night it was just going to be action, action and action but once you realize the dead are running over the good guys you realize the end game had to be the night king getting killed. I kept counting down the minutes until the end when you knew the Night King had to die in order to save humanity and while Arya getting him was great, it just seemed a little anit-climatic. Maybe it is my age, but I prefer shows with great acting over just over the top killing-killing-action killing and last night had very little acting. I did like the moments between Sansa and Tyrion and the moments with the Hound and Arya. The Sansa and Tyrion scene made me think there may be a possibility of them sitting on the Iron throne together at the end. Maybe Jon and Dany go off and built a cabin in that waterfall area and live happily for a thousand years and have a bunch of messed up babies. What does Dany have left to fight Cersai. The dothroki and Grey Worms army were wiped out. I wish the end of the show would have shown us a little of the aftermath of the war. It was good but still it seemed they had 80 minutes of fighting just for the sake of having 80 minutes of fighting. Hey look they broke a record. Uh, Ok.
The Children of the Forest... the ones with the Weirwood Trees(the old Gods) created the White Walkers by piercing the heart of a Stark with Dragon glass...... they did this to fight off the First Men who arrived over a land bridge and were destroying the Children of the Forestsomeone else explained the white walkers were created as a defense from humans. i had to dig back in my mind cause i slammed 5 seasons into like 2 weeks and when you gloss over that much, you miss some details.![]()
it does help frame a lot. one thing about GoT is there is a LOT to keep track of.The Children of the Forest... the ones with the Weirwood Trees(the old Gods) created the White Walkers by piercing the heart of a Stark with Dragon glass...... they did this to fight off the First Men who arrived over a land bridge and were destroying the Children of the Forest
Over time the Night King got too powerful and created the Army of the Dead and his Lieutenants the White Walkers out of humans like Crastor's babies... long ago Bran the Builder built the Wall with magic to keep the Night King and his army North of the North
The First Men and CoftF eventually reached a peace agreement but the Night King was now their enemy..... the last of the Children died protecting Bran and the last 3 eyed raven a couple seasons ago with Hodor
When Bran worged and spied on the Night King he was grabbed and marked by the NK... this allowed him to track Bran and move against him..... it is said it broke the magic of the wall when Bran passed thru with the mark
The Night King was coming for Bran to kill him and reclaim the Winter forever...... it would erase all mankind if the 3 eyed raven died with all his knowledge and memories and Winter would last forever... the Night King was so close but he had the tragic weakness like the Death Star or any Alien invader..... the soft underbelly and vulnerability to the Dragon Glass and Valaryian Steel that created him
I know I got some things wrong and I am not a book reader but this is just my layman's attempt to tell the story
Watching the Dothraki go out with flaming swords was so cool but it was so deflating to see the lights all extinguished so quickly.... they were the bad-*** Cavalry and they were wiped outThis episode needs to be re-watched because from the beginning the action was too frantic to follow and I kept feeling I am seeing action, exhilarating action, but I don't know what the hell is going on. Gonna watch it in a total black out room to see what I can see.
One thing I would have done differently. Since they showed that blue-eyed sob smirking at Dany when the dragon fire had no effect, I would have liked to have seen the surprise on his face when Arya drove the Valerian dagger into that blue eyed sob, can you tell I didn't like him very much? I didn't feel completely satisfied with his destruction, wanted that to last a little longer and see if that blue eyed sob could resurrect himself from a thousand pieces.
That was just over the top great TV, well beyond what we've gotten in the past, and it was made even better by knowing how involved and laborious those 55 days to get that right were.
Now, onto that smirking ***** Cersei, I certainly hope for a better facial expression payoff than I got with that blue eyed sob. One thing about her or is it just me, does it look like she asked for a raise and didn't get it and is just gonna mail it in with her smirks?
It looks like quite a few Unsullied survived along with the main cast and 2 DragonsAgree with much of this. However, I did like it a lot more than you did, apparently. But it did seem a bit anticlimactic.
Btw, You nailed the Night King exit before it happened. Well done.
I was thinking about 1/2 to 1/3 of the Unsullied were still alive. Did I miss something?
Also, Arya hasn't used her projectile spear yet. Maybe that is being saved for that beast protecting Cersi.
