What does Cowboys season look like without Elliott?

Purely Hypothetical, but ...

You don't lose a player of Zeke's status and ability and not have a dropoff. It would hurt our offense and team, no doubt.
The only positive is that we have better weapons behind him now. We have two young RB's with varying skills and opportunities for the offense and the opportunity to bring in a veteran if need be. The position and depth is much better than last year. But let's not just limit it to the RB position. When you lose a RB of Zeke's caliber and have receivers like a declining Dez and T.Williams, that's an even bigger problem. Now you have a dynamo like Cooper, Gallup who is already better than Williams, and a savvy talented vet like Cobb. That WR group with the ability to be a pass happy offense (even though we don't want to be) definitely makes it possible to still be a playoff team. Having a much improved and improving defense helps too.

And that's what you want...you never want to be dependent on 1 guy for your success. We saw how that worked out when we first lost Romo for a season and had neither a stellar run or pass game or defense.

This wasn’t a DV against a women. He may not have been nice to his girl but he didn’t hit her.

Elliot, fly this kid out and spend the day with him. Look him in the eyes and say sorry bro, I was drunk as a skunk. Slide him a check. Go home and stay there until training camp.

Wouldn't affect all that much, especially in the run game. As long as Tyron Smith doesn't go down during the same timespan we'll be good.

Wish we had better backup options, but it is what it is.

Depends on Dak. He’s got the receivers, Gallup will be much better this year and I’m getting this vibe that Moore will make our scheme more QB friendly.
I agree. It will depend on Dak. He should be able to showcase his skill set more.

no Zeke means no room for error...we need all hands on deck...TcB!!!!!
a slow start by Pollard....un-even reps by Weber or injuries along the OL could make it worse.

And not just the effects offensively but the overall effects of the team’s success.

Under the past OC, a real problem because he proved he couldn't get it done without him. Moore is an unknown with how would attack without Elliott but the two RB's they drafted could be very effective, just not as effective, in his offense. However, consider the ranking of the offense vs the ranking in yards of the RB.

I believe one of Moore's assignments is to get Prescott less Elliott dependent, just in case they don't give him a fat deal. I also feel Prescott has the best weapons he's had to be able to run the offense without Elliott, should the need arise.

Coaching isn’t a strength for us.

Do we expect any of our star players to cover for Him?
Coaching is an unknown to us with the offense, we do not know if it is strength or weakness at this point. We also do not know how run dependent this offense is going to be now.

The two rook RB's are unknown but that WR corps looks to be the best we've seen around here in some time so that leaves it up to the one real question about all of this. Can the QB play well without that RB?

Elliott’s impact and effectiveness for our offense and QB isn’t just about his yards and production. It’s the threat he imposes on defenses helping keep them more honest with a QB who doesn’t threat them down the field or over the top.

I agree. “ Can our QB play well without that RB?”

And this is probably the biggest question. Prior history doesn’t provide us much comfort.

Depends on that front 5. No Zeke, Defenses key off on Dak. No threat in the backfield, rushing or receiving, defenses won't have to respect the run. Trouble for the Cowboys.

From what a lot of fans have said, RBs are a dime a dozen and we could punch in another one.

Heard it here, it must be true.

But that's what established the prior history. But I agree, it is a situation of they need to prove they can because they've already proven they couldn't in the past.

However, on paper, this WR corps looks to be one of the better ones in the league this season with speed and the ability to get open. The weapons are there more so than they've been in the past.
