You're that dude who tells 30% of the story, says "tell me I'm lying, all I speak is facts" and leaves out the other 70%. It'd be like saying Hitler was an awesome leader because he led Germany to it's most powerful 12 years in history - making that country feared and respected by the world while building a military that was one of the world's best.
Fill me in on the 70% i left out? Instead of chasing me around different posts just telling me my opinion is wrong with absolutely nothing to back it up other than you are marinelli's grandchild and your feelings are hurt.

The DL has pretty much performed above their talent level since he’s been here. They’ve played pretty well with the Hayden’s and Selvie’s of the world. I can’t imagine they wouldn’t play well with more talent.

I wouldn’t worry about the DL.

He's a big reason why there's a lack of talent on the dline.

The Indianapolis Colts and LA Rams say HI.

That's just last year. Many other games where the Dline underperformed, especially the playoff games in 2014, 2016 and 2018.
exactly when we play good teams they get exposed. Where as our so called "bad" qb plays lights out in those same games.

After 23 years of being irrelevant they fall in love with JAG players and JAG coaches. The guys that still remember the winning culture aren't as accepting of the jag fest that Jerry shoves down our throat.
Dave Wannstedt was a much better Dline Coach during the 90s.

I wish, that dude is a freaking dynamo.

You are ignoring the talent and depth (or lack thereof) he's been given since he came to Dallas. Last year was the first time we had decent talent and depth and we had a good defense. You are ignoring the 16 games they played really well for the two that they didn't.

You keep throwing 0-16 out there as if it has anything to do with his ability to coach defense (here's a hint, it doesn't).

You call guys like A. Woods JAGs, even though Woods was a great fit for what we ask the 1-Tech to do. He ate space and occupied blockers helping to lead to LVEs and Jaylons breakout years. Even made a few plays along the way. Then tore his labrum and struggled against a great O-line. For what we ask of that position, Woods played it at a very high level.

You expect flashy stats from every position regardless of scheme. You seem to lack the willingness to consider that scheme matters and above average players, while usually not stars, are useful and necessary. And you won't settle for anything but a championship and want heads to roll if we don't get there - which isn't in itself a bad thing but you don't want to throw the baby out with the bathwater. If we followed your lead we'd be the Dolphins, changing coaches every few years and starting over continually to the point we'd never compete for a title.

Mostly I get tired of complainers. It's one thing to identify something you see as negative and point it out logically. It's another when all you do is complain about everything and dismiss the fact (since you like facts so much) that Dallas has a 64.7% winning percentage the past three seasons. That's top 4 in the league. That's proof they are close and are doing many things right. Couple that with a young roster that will naturally improve (Dak included), improved depth and few tweaks to change some weaknesses - like a new OC - and there is no need for sweeping changes.

You've essentially aligned yourself with a few of the resident complainers on this board, basically looking for a thread to piss on each day. You might stop and take an objective look around, because things aren't so bad. There are some good things going on. Try to enjoy the ride, at least a little.

Who was the coach who convinced Jerry to pass up on TJ Watt and instead use a super costly 1st round pick on Taco Charlton?

Oh, that's right, it was the great Marinelli.

That's the frustrating part - the inconsistency. And the fact that the defense is always the reason why this team loses in the playoffs.

When they're "up"? They're way up, they shut down the Saints run game completely as well as the Seahawks in the playoffs.

But when they're "down"? The Colts are blanking them and running over them all day while they don't get a whiff of Andrew Luck. Or the Rams torch them for an incredible 273 yards rushing and their quarterback's jersey doesn't have a mark on it.

Exactly. Frustrating. I blame that on Marinelli more than the players. It's happened too much during the playoffs in three separate recent years.

At least you are giving credit for the good to go with the bad. Even if we disagree on some points (and you are wrong on occasion ) I can at least find logic in most of your arguments. It is incredibly frustrating to know you've seen better and see a poor performance in a playoff game.

When things like this come out?

https://www.bloggingtheboys.com/201...sive-line-was-going-to-do-over-90-of-the-time

Yeah, that's all on Marinelli. And to be honest, in many places, it would be a fireable offense. But, as was the case with Scott Linehan, this organization is exceedingly loyal and reticent to pull the plug, even if perhaps they should.

Instead, they've decide to double down on Rod Marinelli, and they used their top draft asset, as well as signing and trading for guys like Covington, Hyder, and Quinn to beef up their defensive line. We'll see if it works or not.

We aren't asking A woods to do a lot. Hence why he is a JAG. There are plenty of guys that can do what he did last year. If we followed my lead we would have made a championship appearance in the last 23 years. We have been trending upward but the coach that you are defending has crapped the bed when it matters most, in the playoffs. I don't care about regular season winning %. Can we make the playoffs and how do we perform in the playoffs against better competition is the real measuring stick. We can't make the playoffs consistently and when we get there the great marinelli's defense is awful. We have a right to complain about 23 years. I think we are 1 of a handful of teams that has seen as little success in the same amount of time. Stop acting like we should be happy about winning the division. Straight loser mentality I bet your kids love participation trophies.

Marinelli has done more than enough

Yeah he’s not perfect but considering what he started with and what he’s accomplished since then he’s done enough

Thanks.

Whether you disagree with me (and are wrong! ;)) or not, I hope that I can at least properly communicate where I'm coming from and give support for why I feel the way I do.

And yes, after the dominant performances against both the Saints and then the Seahawks, it's frustrating to see them get dominated in games against the Colts and ultimately the Rams.

It's terrible not to be able to count on what is essentially one half of the team to perform the same from one game to the next.

I can only hope that things are straightened out and improved upon this year. That last game was tough to watch.

There's a difference between being happy and being satisfied. You have the right to complain, sure, and I have the right to call you on the BS. The playoffs can be a crap shoot. And if you are holding the 2014 and 2016 defensive performances against Marinelli you are clueless. Those defenses were weak ALL SEASON. That's personnel related.

The patriots defense was weak all season too. The excuses are like buttholes they all stink. And it's honestly to the point I'm sick and tired of them.

Marinelli has developed the perfect scheme for longevity. You tell everyone who will listen not to give you talent. When your group fails when it is needed most, you say you don't have any talent. Brilliant!
