Couldn't be worse.Keep Daniel Wise and Joe Jackson and dump 'em both.
True, but he needs to show something. I'll give him a rider due to the injury.2 seasons. Too early to bury the guy.
It's Crawford over Taco if it comes down to one or the other.Lots of debate on both players. With the draft and FA, Dallas is stacked on the DL. It will be a struggle to make the final roster. In my opinion Crawford and Taco are nearly the same player, meaning a DE with some ability to play inside. Crawford seems to have made the full conversion to DE.
We know what Crawford is at this point. Try hard guy, limited production, decent run stopper, below average pass rusher, good leader, injury prone...
We really don't know what Taco is. Attitude issues, flashes real ability, injury prone, Social Media headache, first rounder that was supposed to take a couple years, then ???...
I doubt Crawford makes the roster given all the depth but if he does doesn't he hurt Taco's development? With Quinn on a 1 year deal and Gregory being a question mark, isn't this the year to see what we have in Taco. Get him snaps at DE and DT and see what we have.
I vote for Taco over Crawford and it is not even a close decision. What do you all think?
lolHe is a leader on the team and is consistent in making sure his job is done
I don't get the hate for Taco. Has he underachieved? Yes. But he was a project when we got him yet, I guess people wanted him to be better by year 2?
At least Taco wasn’t a 1st round pick.I'd take Crawford over Taco in an instant as Taco has never shown a thing...
Just out of curiosity, how difficult is it to turn an OLB into a DE? Watt seems to have a high motor, and may have thrived in a 4-3The old Taco/TJ Watt debate has proven to be one-sided and a non-debate. Although if there is a fair criticism of our FO/coaches, sometimes they can get too hung up on prototypes and there's no guarantee Watt would have the same success in our scheme. I don't know how we would utilize him. Although even as a PT pass-rusher (he's much more than that obviously, I'm just guessing what his role would have been here starting out) he would have given some juice to our D.
That said, even if you think Crawford isn't worth his salary or cap hit, he's multitudes better than Taco so far and anyone who watches the film can see that.
The only caveat is that DL sometimes take time to develop, especially DE. It would be foolish to just give up on the guy without giving him a third training camp and preseason to see if there is any evidence of turning a corner.

Well Taco has NOT helped the Cowboys look better imoSome will try to tell you it's 'impossible' , while their favorite team does it all the time, with guys like Haley, Ware, Spencer, and many more. The 'rules' change for this team as they see fit. Whatever helps the Cowboys look better? That's the 'rule'!

I’m not blaming you guys for anything I just don’t get the rush in calling a second year pro a bust. A lot of you guys wrote him off before he even stepped on the field so I’m not shocked.Feel free to sing the praises of a first round bust, and a guy buried so far down the depth chart and with such attitude problems that he's a healthy scratch.
Blame the fans for that too.
I can’t speak on his work ethic but his spoiled attitude does harm him.Taco's problem is he that he has been a raw talent that makes up for it with a less than acceptable work ethic and attitude.

I suppose it depends on the player. I wasn't insinuating that Watt couldn't have been successful here, I just know how hard-headed the coaching staff can be about scheme fit sometimes and just because the player might be plenty capable doesn't necessarily mean the opportunity to do so is fully afforded. Maybe they make him a full-time DE, or maybe they make him a pass rushing DE and a SLB in base. That's all just speculation.Just out of curiosity, how difficult is it to turn an OLB into a DE? And that’s what this is about. Being “right”. And you guys will be right. I just notice there is a certain rush to get him out of here as if it’s foreign for guys to produce in year 3 of their careers. And "us guys" have been 100% right about everything to this point. But yeah, I'm sure you still can't admit that Gavin Escobar was a bust either, some fans can't admit the obvious.
