Pay Dak, he certainly deserves it

Because you are acting as if what is about to happen with Dak is foreign. If the Cowboys won’t pay him someone will.

We don't agree. However, I will say this. You take this personally. I don't. To me, this is just simple business. I don't have any personal agenda attached to this, other then the health of the cap long term.

You seem to be convinced that Dak is going to get paid in the area of 30 plus over a long period. I don't see it but I guess we will see what happens.

Lastly, your answer above doesn't answer any of the questions I asked. If you are going make statements, you should respond in kind with honest answers. Just saying.
why do you call me a hater? why do all dak lovers refer to anyone not in their club as Haters? yes, we care about the same team. we debate. we see things differently. so why label?
Link please....... good luck, coz over 6K posts, I've never used the term. Perhaps you're confusing me with another poster. Name calling and personal attacks have never been part of my posting of 10+ years. Other words, show me and I'll gladly apologize.

Brady is a product of the system he is in and the era that he plays. A different coach and he doesn't have 6 rings. If he played 25 years ago, teams would have teed off on him because he is a statue back there and he would have retired at 35. But since teams are not allowed to touch him he can play until he is 45.
you under estimate how good brady is. Aikman was a statue yet, he won 3 superbowls. brady is really good....and by the same token, the coach you speak of, hasn't won a ring without brady. hmmm

Seems all factors mentioned were part of him taking a 2017 step back......

* Zeke was distracted and suspended
* Beasley was the best WR
* No question the OL had issues that comprise THEIR standard of play
* After exploding his rookie year, the league ( defensive coor that is ) had offseason worth of tapes to break down his game.

But the important thing is considering all the 2017 factors, (especially the final one) he recovered by the end 2018 season.
he didn't recover first half of the season....only when a top WR joined the team...which says a lot about what Dak needs to succeed.

Help me understand what you are asking me? I didn’t think what I said was offensive for you to think I’m taking this personal. Of course I’d love to pay Dak 5 million a year. I just don’t see it. The option is give him 30 plus million or let him walk. I don’t see letting him walk as a option for the Jones family.

Yep.

Hawkeye might not say those things but some Dak supporters have absolutely overvalued Dak's responsibility for the wins but then turned around and made excuses for the bad losses and performances. In other words, Dak carried the team to two divisional titles and 32 wins, but "the team" let Dak down in 2017 and in the losses.

:hammer:
and it was ALL DEFENSES fault for losing to the Rams....Dak was Heroic.....

This contract won’t be top 5 in 3 years. It will be top 10.
that is still to much for the qb that Prescott is. I like Prescott but I do not see him as a top ten qb in the nfl right now. he is a great above average qb who needs everything to go right for him to be successful.

What team is going to pay Dak a long term, 30 mil plus contract? Seriously, which team do you see doing that?
It’s hard to say who would know. It depends on how bad certain teams are. Bengals are one. Ravens could be another. Bills could be another after this year. Raiders could be another.

I love talk about "the system." So why doesn't everybody else use that system and make their own Brady? The Erhardt-Perkins offense the Patriots run was invented in the 1970s, and I don't recall anybody being scared of them back then. It sure didn't make the likes of Tony Eason look special.

Everybody's the product of their era. Even Staubach benefitted from rules changes, his stats blew up the second they made the first big rule changes to open up the passing game in the late 70s. You think Aikman didn't benefit from passing rules being easier still than they were in Staubach's time? This era also has big DISADVANTAGES for would-be dynasties. Free agency and the cap mean it's basically impossible for teams to hoard talent like you could in the 70s or even the early-mid 90s, yet Brady has been the linchpin of a double dynasty anyway.

Ultimately people have to be judged on what they ACTUALLY DID, not what we think they coulda-shoulda-woulda done or not done.
great points...the rules apply to EVERYONE, not just Brady...the special ones make things look easy.

30-33 is about average for his level of QB these days....if he wants 35-38, then I say wait, franchise him.....in fact it would be the smart thing to do....if he is truly good, elitish...then pay the money...he has no excuses this year.

Whether you agree or not in two years there won’t be 10 quarterbacks better than him.

I never said it was Offensive. I said you take it personally and I think if you are honestly with yourself, you will find that it's true.

I don't understand what you need help understanding, in terms of what you are being asked. I would also point out that I've seen nobody on this board suggest that we pay Dak 5 million a year. That's just untrue.

Why do you think that the offer has to be 30 million plus or let him walk? By no means is any of that true. The Cowboys could offer him nothing and just let him play out his contract and then just tag him and there would be nothing that anybody could do about it. There is absolutely no reason to believe that he could or even would, walk if he didn't get 30 million plus.

Where is this 30-33 million figure coming from?

Actually the defense was at fault for that Rams game. They let CJ Anderson out of shape destroy them.
so the offense going 6 minutes in 3 drives in the first half....had nothing to do? so the offense getting total of 26 yards...yes 26 yards in those three drives is not accountable!?...Dak had 16 yards passing on those 3 drives...SIXTEEN....

I mean get freaking 100 yards in 3 drives...not asking for much. just a 100 yards in THREE DRIVES and the game might have been different. score more than 7 points in about 3 quarters and the game might have been different....that was an embarrassing offensive performance...people focus on run defense but ignore how horrible that offense was...Dak went 1-9 on 3rd down conversions....is that the run defense too? convert 3-9 and things are different....the "offensive" performance was offensive (pun intended)…...
