A guy who’s clearly suffering from mental issues either from playing football or from his ATV crash. He’s clearly not all there.

He sure doesn't appear to be in that video. I wonder if he's mentally capable to drive a vehicle. I would think an evaluation of some sort is in order.

Rare occurrence. Very, very rare. Think about the psychology cops have a ton of things to worry about. Mistakes happen. Terrible thing but it’s true. Unless of course we all decide to not listen to the police for fear of being shot. That makes perfect sense. Ridiculous assumption.
Very rare that it got caught on camera lol. Ive seen similar things in my very own family. Being the military as a cop I worked with civilian cops that were in the reserves and they told me stories of things that they would see that got swept under the rug. Being the military I know that a lot is hidden from civilians as well....I lived it. One last thing....the disrespect you showed towards my veteran brother earlier is uncalled for. Debate topics all you want. Discounting the efforts of those that put their life on the line so you can be disrespectful....is disrespectful

Yeah right cops are the bad guys. I love clowns like you. Judging police and probably the military. Unless you walk in those shoes - shut up.
Very stupid argument to try and go with. You’ve never played for the Cowboys so why do you judge them? Just sit back and enjoy the ride. Silly right?

He needs something. For him to act like that and continue to repeat the same words over and over again regardless of the danger he’s in? He’s not there all the way and if hasn’t had some form of a mental evaluation he needs to before someone kills him or he hurts himself.

Yeah I’m not anti-police by no means. I’ve had my life saved by police when I was 16. But just like any other profession everyone doesn’t think, feel or act the same. There’s always the bad seeds. We’ve seen these cases time and time again where somehow the body cam doesn’t work. It seems to always work in instances like this though.

I didn’t disrespect anyone. Read for content. With all the stolen valor clowns running around you can’t believe a thing. Besides you don’t know a thing about my background and no one can prove a thing here unless they personally know the poster. Making the comments he did and then claiming he was former Navy didn’t register with me. Not apologizing for that. You have a good one today.

Police are doing what they are trained to do. Doesn't mean that they are bad people; its more of the system that is put in place. Again I worked with civilian cops while I was in the military so Ive heard what they coached to do and how to respond to certain things.

What about his comment about "always complying with police"? Are you saying the way McDowelll handled things was right? Do you think not complying with police makes things better? Say what you mean.

Can you not read stash? Did I not clearly say in my response to you that McDowell was in the wrong and if he was shot it would have been justified? So why would you ask me again if what he did is right? That lets me know you are just looking to argue and you have no desire to look at things from another perspective. So I’m not gonna engage in this dialogue with you any further.

Welcome for your freedom? How about welcome for your freedom. Draping yourself in the flag on a sports forum is ridiculous. I am bowing out of this conversation as it will only deteriorate.

How do you know what I am or was? If you are telling the truth your point makes even less sense. No clue? You have no clue. Man, has modern society unscrewed your head. McDowell was dead wrong there. Dead f ing wrong. He is lucky to be alive. That officer was trying to do his job and some mammoth sized JV lawyer was changing the protocol. Could have gone fubar and then the bleeding hearts would scream his rights were violated.

Ive been a member of this board for almost a decade and plenty of people in this board know my veteran status. The mods even put up a congratulatory post for me when I left for boot camp. So you can blow your nonsense up your behind doubting my valor. Your privilege blinds you to reality so I’m not wasting time with a person like you

I’m asking you clearly what is this “other perspective”?

The fact is that you don’t have one and brought up something unrelated as if it somehow excuses what McDowell did.

I’ll ask again, what’s your ‘better idea’ than complying with the officer?

Fine. I disagreed with you. Sorry that twisted you all up. Some choose to do the job in silence and move on. Others like to tout veteran status on sports forums. To each his own. You have a good one.

I think its deeper than that. For instance let's say you are a guy who hates a certain group of people. Are you not going to police them different than you would people that you like or that look like you? I believe it all needs a overhaul. I believe being a officer should be a privilege. Not everyone is meant to be a police officer. I feel the way same way about teachers and other occupation too.

Everyone is not able to comply with police though. Some people may be on drugs....some may have mental issues. I personally don't think the answer should warrant your life if you have mental issues and can't comply.

If that's the case, there's reason why bad things might happen.

I don't either, but you're assuming that to be the case when in fact, it may not be. Check out McDowell's background. This is hardly the first time he's run afoul of the law.

Sign him!

So he can immediately begin his suspension. The screw is more than just loose.

Then pay them accordingly for that 'priviledge' you speak of.

I was speaking in general. I do remember remember reading McDowell has mental issues from the ATV accident but I could be wrong there.

But generally speaking.......a lot of people with mental issues do die at the hands of police officers. Now that I don't know the answer for. But I'm not going to write them off as "idiots" or say they deserve what they get if it happens. Its something we do need to look into.

Do they work for free? I wasn't aware that professions underpaid.

If and when it's proven that McDowell has it, it might explain his actions. But not before.

Disgustingly so.

I think you should probably do more research before you refer to their jobs as "a privilege".
